so ive had my 200s for a while didnt run when found behind an abandond shop had grass taller than it all flat tires 2 drie rotted to hell and the pull start rope all the way out and expanded from being water logger to where it was to fat to go back in. fixed the recoil not knowing anything about them and put a new spark plug and filter and she ran like a champ........ rode her down the rode with a complete flat in front and one rear "i was excited i got it to run" i went and bought some holeshots for the back and moved the one good rear tire to the front. i rode it for most of the summer and one day in my driveway it just locked up. pull start was real hard to pull but it started for like 30 more seconds and locked up. i traded it for some car paint but just traded it back now i need to get it goin again i miss it too much. so what should i look for? it was still full on oil....... and now you cant even pull the start rope....... its locked up. i dunno if its in the trans but i can still shift through all the gears. i dont know anything about this kind of stuff but i work on trucks a little bit never major motor work so could you guys give an idea where to start? i took off the rights side cover and everything looked intact and only a little tiny bit of real tiny metal savings in the oil smaller than salt. on the pull start side i took off the pullstart recoil..... and the lil fan looking thing and the pully looking thing where the pullstart teeth catch "yes i know i sound dumb i just dont know the names of any of these parts. so then theres the round part behind that with just the one nut in the middle...... do i need to pull this off with a gear puller "if i even need to get in there? well im starting to babble to much so thats about it......... any ideas? i relly need help so i can enjoy this thing again.

thanx........Dave

Hey, welcome aboard!
Well if I were going to start anywhere it would be to pull the head and go down from there. You should get a manual being you aren't that familiar with the parts. You might be able to find some more info by doing a search throught the forums. Just don't give up on it. It will reward you later.

Kinda sounds like you might have dropped a valve. Only sure thing to do is pull the head and have a look

rustbucket........ if "I dropped a valve" does this mean i just need new vavles or does this mean i need to rebuild the whole topend? ....... im only 19 living at home and i have another project "my 87 lifted ford ranger" thats kinda where the big bucks need to go....... i mean i can spend money on the 3wheeler just hoping to keep in in the couple hundred dollar range for now
