500 motor swap

does anybody here have any experience trying to put a 500 into a 81-82 r?
Like what years are the easiest to swap. If any parts off of the 250 motor will convert over. like the exhaust, linkage, wiring, carb. If the 500 is a hard swap is there any other motors that are better? I'm restoring my bike this off season (summer) and I think that it needs to go faster. It already is a 300 and I not as scared of it as I need to be. Please help thank you.

instead of a 500 motor put a 82 or 83 cr480 engine in it. the swap will be a lot easier than the 500 just for the simple fact that the front sprocket on the 480 is on the same side the 250 is and the 500 is on the opposite side. and 20cc is not gonna make that much difference when you concider big bore 2 strokes.

i am currently building my 480r. all i really had to do was noth the frame just a hair, and no none of the 250r componets will fit the 480r, the pipe has to be custom built, that is probly the hardest part.
