Are the complete bikes for sale? If you don't know, will you please ask? What state are they in?

Well boys, the sad news is these bikes belong to one of Hagen's (greenboy) friends. If I remember right all this stuff is located in Greece. If not, then in Europe somewhere.

It is quite a collection! :-D

It's also a classic example of the difference in the 86 & 87 Tecate's Head Light Cover. The one in the middle is an 87, the one on the far right is an 86. Notice the headlight cover on the one in the middle (87), the top edge (by the corssbar) is curved. On the 86 (on the right) It is dead flat.

Is there any other noticable changes from 86-87 KXT 250's?? I've never heard of the curved headlight shell. You learn something new everyday!!

between 86 & 87 Kawasaki made a couple minute updates to the plastic. One is the curved headlight shroud on the 87. Another has to do with the right hand radiator shroud, which today thanks to ebay is known as "green gold". :-D I have 3 right hand shrouds. 1 brand new, 1 good used, and the original one with the decal. If you look at the original 86 shroud with the decal I have, the corner right above the pipe is more sharp than the other two I have, which have more of a chamfered corner to clear the pipe better.

also, the 87 Tecate had updated graphics. the blue was allot lighter in the stripes and it said Tecate on the top of the rear fenders and kawasaki along the back. The 86 has dark blue stripes and says 250 on the top of each fender and Tecate along the back.

A couple other major differences are the fact that the 87 had a keyed ignition and parking brake. also the shock reservoirs are different. the 86 has two adjustment knobs and I believe the 87 only has one. If I remember right the two knobs on the 86 are for high speed and low speed compression damping adjustment and the 87 just has 1 compression damping adjustment knob.

So infact they are the same but different.

Sounds like a lot of little things can add up to a lot. Thanks,
