Hey, i have everything broken down on my left fork, except for the circlip being taken out, and the fork slider (inner tube) is still inside of the outer fork tube, and it wont come out.

I already took out the 6mm alan head bolt at the bottom, but the bottom half and top half wont seperate.

I remember reading somewhere that if this happens, you need a special tool to get it apart. Does anyone know of a makeshift one that would work?

Please let me know, and im going out there now to get the circlip out, although i highly doubt that will help anything.

Thanks,
Mike

take out the circlip and put the bottom fork tube in a vise buy the axle mount and then pull the top tube in and out slaming it against the top. should make the seal come out and the bushing.

you shouldn't have to put them in a vise you should just be able to pull them apart with your arms. just pull them apart a couple times and they should come loose from each other

well i got them out, and it has become the fork seal change from hell.

I put that bushing/spacer back together before i put the slider in, so i had to pry that out, so there goes that bushing.

Then i decide to roll the slider around and see if its bent, it is, but its not that much so i may just leave it.

I take the other complete fork and put it aside, and when i go to put the bike down, i grab the front brake by accident, and i hear...POP...popped through a brake line....

well now i got a nice little summer project, getting my 350x ridable again...thank god the motor is 100%

thanks for all of your help,

mike
