View Full Version : Opinion on seat cover color

I have a 1982 XL500R that I've been fixing up and should have license on it in a week. The picture I posted is not my bike but it's the same thing only mine isn't quite that nice. I still need a seat cover. My stock one isn't bad but it's tearing on the rear corners.

A guy on ebay sells seat covers for it in like 6 different colors. Do you think it would look better with a black cover like factory or with a blue one? I have a 1984 XR500R and it has a blue seat. It's all original and it's the only blue on the whole bike. The fork boots are even black. I was also thinking when I need fork boots on the XL I could get blue ones kinda like my ATC250R. What do you guys think?

That's weird. I'm not a member of where I got the pic from. I just did a search for XL500R and just grabbed the first one I saw. Thats the first time I've ever seen that bike myself.

yep. that one works.. and wow. nice bike.. looks brand new........ I like the black seat personally.

even IF you had the color right..... LOL.. i'd still stick with the black.

The white frame with blue seat is a good combo.. but with the orange frame and plastics.. stick with black.

The tank and frame on that one look RED instead of ORANGE.. depends on the year i beleive..... but with the red.. yeah.. it's ok.

but with the orange.... i prefer the black.

i like the blue seat and add blue fork boots. it makes it stand out a little more.

My 82 XL500 is red. The picture I painted a blue seat on is an XL500 and it is red. The picture I posted of an orange bike with a blue seat is an XR500, I have one of those too and it comes factory like that. I'm leaning toward the blue seat for sure.
