My unkel just got a 125 tri-moto in pretty rough shape. The guy we got it off of said it did run but what he forgot to mention was it dont move. Well I took the clutch cover off and found out the shaft is snapped at the end. There is a little round cam that drives a pump that I assume is for the oil injecton system also. How hard is it to change the shaft the clutch is on? Or would it just be easier to put the top end off that motor on our spair that needs it and swaping the whole motor?

Theres only three bolts and some cable holding the motor in. It only takes like a half hour to yank it. As long as your spare is good just swap the top and put in the new motor

Got the bottom end swaped today. The problem im having now is as soon as I put it in gear the front end lifts and it just dies. It starts idles and revs ok so i have no idea whats wrong.

check the oil in the trannie, if there isn't much oil the clutch won't slip. or your idle speed is to high, they need to idle pretty low to disengage the clutch. Or you could hold wide open and stomp the shifter.

rustbucket: I put about a qurt of oil in it and its up to the fill hole. It does idle a bit high so I will try turning it down a bit. I tried holding it wide open and poping it in gear but I ended up falling off on my head lol. I forgot the 125s wheelee so well.

He was probably trying to tow a 2 ton Chevy truck with the brakes on.

you actually tried that?!?! lift the rear in the air and shift. no resistance. also can you loosen up the clutches on those?

when you gas it like that you need to sit on the tank. Is it possible that the nut came off the lever that is on the end of the shift shaft for the clutch? If that happens then the clutch wont disengage
