I want to put a 200s front end on a 84 200es big red.I have a real good 200s front end, would i gain anything by switching the front ends. The 200s forks look lighter, but would they go good on a 200es big red to lighten the front end a bit.Would it handle better or worse, what do you guys think, let me know.thanks....svo58

I say the 200S front forks are way better. I would do it.

You'll have to change your brake assembly too, then if the hub is for a different rim size??? you can see that one change can really add up, pretty soon you got yourself a Frankenstein...I have a 200es straight fork/dampers that are going on ebay bout mid July, pm me and I'll alert you when they're on. 200es dampers are the problem..no one maintained them so the spring wore through the neoprene guides inside the sliders they then became loose and let moisture in and it's a slippery slope after that..the good news is you can resote the springs and buy the shocks and guides new from Honda and don't overlook the retaining clips (2) they're usually rusted in too...any way once your rebuilt right they function just fine and your back to OEM....Good Luck!

The early 200S's had 9 inch rims just like the ES.

But the brake hub and boss aren't.

Well just take the whole front end off a 200S and put it on the ES. As long as you get the one with the 9 inch rim you can keep all the tires the same. I see nothing wrong with that at all. No different than people putting a 200X front end on a 250SX, quite the improvement.

The S forks are better than the ES forks.

If you still have your ES 10 years from now it will be most likely able to catch a serious bid...I'd keep it within factory spec...jmo.
