Yeppers, i bought me a new toy!!

1987 Kawasaki Tecate 4, its a little rough, but it goes like STINK

when i got it, you turn the gas on and it overflowed out the carb, so i tore the carb apart, thoroughley cleaned it, checked the reeds, they were good, looked up the cylinder, its MINT same with the piston, the crank seals are good, as are the bearings, its been rolled though, because the rear plastic is broke, but i still drove it all day today

i am ordering rear plastic tommorow, and getting new grips, the stock grips have gone gooey and its disgusting to drive with them!!

heres a few pics, no action shots, sorry,

that and the pipe is going too, FMF pipe and silencer, soon as i get some coin again

ohh, and the deal with the TriZ sitting on the bench, as soon as i put the motor back together (i am almost done the rebuild) its going for sale, but i cant find the motor, its in one of like a million boxs we have since we are in the process of moving, lol

thanks for looking

well, i couldnt really figure out why it had no real low end, so i took it into my work (i work at a Cycle Salvage) and had the mechanic try and set the carb (except its a fixed jet?!?!?!) and he took it for a spin and then he told me to put my hand on the silencer after about 5 minutes, so i did, at the end, it was cold, at the base, i couldnt touch it, the exhaust is SOOOO plugged, it had a huge restriction, making it have no low end, hard starting, and not idling.

so, on my lunch break, i removed the drain plugs on the silencer, and started it up outside, and instantly a big cloud of crap came out the 3 drain plug holes, and it ran soooo much better without the restriction

The plastics are going on tommorow, and my co worker has a DG silencer for it, so for 25 bucks, i get it, and supposbly its supposed to open the low end right up (i find it hard to believe, and aftermarket SILENCER making more bottom end??)

I will post pics tommorow night of the new plastics (i only bought rears) and hopefully the new silencer on it
