I'm not a big seller on ebay I just list extra parts that I'm not going to use.

Usually I notice and expect it to take a couple hours for my listings to appear. I listed some things 11 hours ago and it has not shown up on search yet. It is shown in my ebay with 6 days 13 hours left for a 7 day listing.

Anyone else here ever experience a lag time like this. I must admit I'm slightly irritated

I've never experianced a lag time at all. they start right away, but usually I write up all my auctions ahead of time and set them to start at a certain time. maybe thats why...??? some time ebay has some glitches and the site acts up a little, i'm sure it will clear up. why dont you post up the auction numbers and well see if we can see them. :beer

I have had a lag time, of almost a day on a bike I listed. You're not the only one, but I don't know what to tell you to do.

19 hours and nothing. The clock is ticking down in "my ebay" on the stuff I had listed. When I went to advanced search to items listed by seller, I typed in my user name and nothing shows. I emailed ebay but I know that will be useless and untimely. I think I should get a partial refund on my listing fees

Hey Okierider did your stuff come up yet??? I'm at almost 23 hours and nothing yet! The 7 day listing shows 6 days 1 hour left in my ebay and it isnt found through any advanced searches. Of course no response from ebay.

Go back and make sure you didnt use any vulgar words in your description. I had a auction held up for two days because I put in the description the front tire was like new and still had the little TITS on the tread. That did it in. But I have noticed more and more that its taking a while to get things listed. Tonight I listed a trike and it took 2hrs to show up. It use to be instant. Not anymore. Double check your description for something in the description that could be read in too wrong.

No vulgarity in my ebay adds
Okierider was right --apparently there is some sort of virus affecting some sellers not all according to the ebay chat (Apache something is the virus).

Of course I never heard that from ebays fast and effective customer support service  after my email several hours ago. They are terrible. A service this large needs faster and more efficient customer support service. I know the volume of calls would be unreal. It must be nice to be one of the worlds most profitable companies and not have to answer a telephone.

I have had the same problem but noticed that when i list something for a $1.00 it shows right away. The higher priced auctions always seem to take longer for me. I don't know if that has anything to do with it or not. As far as them telling you it's a bug i don't know, i have had this problem for awhile now and just thought it was how ebay worked. Let us know if they ever get back to you.

36 hours and nothing

I've been looking at several posts in the ebay motors discussion board.

Here's some of the chat:

Some listings are not showing up after 24 hours for many people.

Some listings that are showing up dont have the gallery picture people paid for --Notice the XX's where some pics should be and the square palm tree photo where some galleries should be.

Some say its a virus

One post said the polaris and Ninja carbs are showing up again (must have been a fraud scam with those) and that reviews and security is up to protect buyers thus slowing everything down.

And of course i'm still waiting to here from ebay. Ebay has mods viewing these discussion boards posting infrequently. I posted in one thread saying --Whats the deal "ebay help!!!" I just want to cancel these auctions and get refunded but with no guarantee i'll be refunded i'm hesitant

3 of my auctions were indexed in or whatever last night, but that still leaves 5 that are not...Hopefully they'll come on tonight....Chris

I went ahead and pulled all my auctions and emailed their billing dept. to see about a credit for the auctions... so hopefully they'll come through...lol Chris

I got their email and they stated they fixed the indexing of auctions. Mine still dont show up 45 hours later. I pulled my auctions also and went through the process of typing in auction numbers for a refund. Lucky I only had 5 auction #s to plug in . There should be an easier way. Feel sorry for those guys who list tons of parts (except for Jerry Lance). I am waiting a week or so before I try again.

Maybe I should of read this thread before I put my stuff up for sale. It's only been about 3 hours and nothing showing yet. I guess I'll just have to wait and see what happens.

eBay doesn't charge you if the item doesn't sell, right? I don't see what it hurts then. If it doesn't come up for two days, and doesn't sell because noone could see it half the time, and you don't get charged for the listing fees.. all is good. But if it doesn't come up for 2 days, and does sell, then you get charged the fees.
I think thats how it is.. if it is, I don't see what it hurts.. it might cause it to not sell, but you wouldnt lose any money if it didn't.

They charge you a listing fee if it sells or not. If it sells they take some more. The problem with this incident is that they had no way of knowing whos wasnt showing up in the search index. It showed in my ebay as a running auction. thats Why I had to email them to have it deducted. Thanks for reminding me I have to check my invoice
