Help Testing CDI!!!! PLEASE

Ok I know this is a golf cart, but I need your help. My friends 87 Honda TRX 250 was not getting spark. I did a little testing and I could see that power was routed to the cdi, but no power was coming out... So before I tell him to go buy a new cdi, I would like to test it. Not having a manual I don't have the slightest clue on how to do that. SO, if anybody out there knows how or has a manual w/ the procedure to do this could you please e-mail me or scan the text and e-mail it to me @

From My Experiences, You Cant Check Them. No Specs

yeah i'm pretty sure you can't test them. either they work or they don't. they usually don't go bad and its something else.

They are right, CDI's cannot be tested.....but if your getting power UP TO the cdi, but nothing coming out.....has to be the cdi......Coils hardly ever go bad, but stators and cdi's are what seems to be wrong when you dont have spark (unless its a broken wire!).
