Hello,

I just bought an '84 250r for AUD$1000 and well, it was running fine for about an hour but then it just died, and now wont start. :wondering It has plenty of spark and i cleaned the carby but still nothing. Any ideas would be appreciated. :)

Pull the top off the motor... see what it looks like inside...

Is the plug wet after you kick it? Or dry?

Maine_Triker, the sparkplug is quite dry, only slightly smells of petrol. Im thinking i might take the carby off again and check it all out.

Could be that the reeds are not working properly... :wondering

I, like yourself, recently purchased an 84 250r and have engine issues. The 250r started first kick when I test rode it (it was great to get back on one since my 83 was stolen 10 years ago). Since then, it didnt start until I left it in the sun for a couple hours, then once again, first kick. How about that Texas sun. When I first rode it, I had checked the engine and it was not warm to the touch.

Good luck with yours.
