I dragged out my dads old YT125 a couple months ago and fixed it up. It started on the 5th pull and ran good, then it quit. I've been through the whole thing and cant find any problems. The carb is clean, the air filter is clean, i tried a new spark plug, and it has good spark. I can only get it to backfire every couple of pulls. It has an aftermarket gold colored head, aftermarket Mikuni carb, DG air filter, and a DG expansion chamber. It would be great if anybody could give me any tips.

if its back firing, i dont think its getting enough gas. try opening the idle screw some or adjusting the choke. see if that works.

Is it old gas in the tank or did you drain the old gas and put new gas in it?

Is there crap in the gas tank that is preventing the gas from flowing good?? That kind of sounds like what it is.

I cleaned out the tank, fuel lines, and carb. It has good fuel flow. I put brand new gas in it mixed at 32:1 with Yamalube 2-R. The oil injector is disconnected.

Ever check the compression on it? Some times t strokes will have enough compression to run but after a few minutes it warms up and quits.

It has good compression. The first time it fired right up, but now it wont run at all. Im gonna check out the reeds cause they didn't look that good.
