View Full Version : where should the clip be set on the needle?

on my 200x where should i put the clip on the needle? i forgot how you do it. check the plug and if its this color you move it up or down or somethign like that? any help?

the higher the clip, the richer it is. The lower the clip, the leaner it is.....by higher i mean towards the top of the needle (so up would be AWAY from the part that goes into the bottom of the carb). I live in Ohio, and all my 200xs ran great on the 3rd notch (1 away from the top). if your plug is black, that means its too rich, and white means lean.....Brown is when the motor is runnin good.

SOOO....with that being said....if the plug is black, move the clip towards the bottom of the needle (where theres the pointed edge). if it is lean (whitish plug), move the clip up...opposite the pointed edge.

Speed20 you got it backwards the higher the clip the leaner it is becouse you are lowering the needle. the lower the clip the richer it is because you are raising the needle from the nozzle.

I would try the clip in the center slot and go from there.
