I went riding up in maine this weekend, and my gf's brother was riding the 200s. He gave it too much gas when putting the shifter into first, so he wheelie, and went over backwards.

All was fine until i noticed the exhaust rubbing against the tire. The bolt which held the exhaust pipe to the grab bar mount had gave way because of the fall, and the exhaust was now loose. Because of this, it stripped an exhaust header stud out of the cylinder head.

I already orders a new cylinder head off of ebay for 30 shipped, and i know I can always get a recoil kit for my current one, but I dont want this to happen again.

How can I prevent the exhaust pipe hitting before the grab bar does? It sticks out about 3 or 4 inches past the grab bar.

I was thinking about cutting the header pipe a few inches, but im not sure that the pipe will still clear the frame where it needs to.

How can I fix this so it never happens again?

I was thinking about a six pack rack for the 200s, and that would definately stick out farther than the exhaust pipe.

Should I go back to the stock exhaust pipe which sits in the middle of the frame under the seat?

Please help me out,

Thanks,
Mike

I was just about to suggest the six-pack rack when I read the last 3 lines. That what I would do.. just slap a six-pack rack on there rather than giong back to the stock exhaust.

I reckon a 6-pack rack or a big grab bar would solve the problem.

would the 185 s 6 pack rack on PRM fit the 200s?

Thanks for all of your help,
Mike
