200E question

Ok. My aunts boyfriend just bought a very nice condition '84 200E and he wants to get an exhaust for it. I told him about my SuperTrapp, and he seemed very interested in it. He doesn't care what kind of exhaust it is though. DG.. SuperTrapp.. anything.. as long as it fits a 200E. I don't even know if they make one that fits an '84 E, but I figured I'd ask for him. Can anyone dig one up for me or have one to sell??
And I guess he also wants a trip-meter for it, but I told him they are rare, and he said to try to find one/what the price of one would be anyway, so I am.

I just got a gearbox set for the 200es for under $20 shipped, keep your eyes peeled on eBay and you'll find one pretty easy. BTW: is it an 83 or 84?

It's an 84, then it's a 200es, not a 200e.

If he wants a speedo, instead of a tripmeter, you can still get them new (with the red stripe) for $50 from Service Honda. I have the part number hanging around here some where.

Does anyone know what other pipes will fit the 200E? (yes its an E.. I called him and asked.. I guess I was wrong.. oops.. again.. lol) Will a 185 pipe work?

You didn't mention if it was a Honda or a Yamaha. Honda made a 200e ( 82-83 ) 1984 was a 200es. Yamaha made a 200e also.

Does SuperTrapp?? He seemed to like the idea of being able to take off and put on discs. And he also said that he doesn't want a loud exhaust because he is probably going to be using his trike for pulling deer out of the woods in hunting season.

He won't gain a heck of a whole lot on a 200ES with any aftermarket pipe..

He's better off looking for a good stock one.. makes good power at low RPM wich is what ne needs to jack deer !! lol....

I know he won't gain much.. I was just thinking that the SuperTrapp is probably the best choice as far as sound.

And he already checked into a new stock pipe (I guess the one that is on it has no "baffle" or w/e.. the thing that silences it.. the core??), and it costs $170.. and he said he doesn't want to spend quite THAT much. I've been looking up stock ones online, but they're like all in ratty condition. He wants one that is ok, but cheaper than from Honda.

Keep looking on e-bay.. they show up often enough.. may take a few weeks !!! Once in a while an ok one shows up.

I don't think he will find a Bolt-On supertrapp.. never heard of one for the big red 200... he might be able to weld one on the stock headpipe tho. This will likely be his only option if he insists on a ST

A good bike shop could rig up a cheap alternate...one of mine has a mis-matched Honda? muffler welded up with brackets and it looks and sounds great...I'll bet it will out live me..lol!
