I just bought a 1976 Chevy Scottsdale from my neighbor for 600 bucks! Its got an almost brand new 350 crate motor new box panels new fenders a 4 inch Skyjacker lift duals but they are realy quiet so im taking them off. It needs some interior work a cab corner and a door and some good greaseing a tune up. Its got a wood floor in the box which is cool and im going to replace that. Its got little stock size tires on it and im going to put 33's on. All it realy needs to be a good daily driver is a clutch because the owner before my neighbor didnt know how to drive a clutch but he gave me a new one for it. And if i want to take it off road i just need to install the new knuckle for the front drive shaft. Im so syced ive always wanted a Scottsdale and i finally got one for a good price that was in good shape. Im so excited!!!

put a big DeWALT sticker on the side of that thing, that would look cool

Welcome to the 76 Chevy club friend!!! Heres my K20, if I wasnt poor and saving for a new bass and several other things I'd lift mine and have big tires and nice wheels. What transmission do you have? Mines got the muncie M-20. I am also running a 350, mines got a comp camshaft, high amp starter, high flow waterpump, high volume oil pump, Performer intake, and a set of nice performance duals. Mine happens to be a camper special model as well and it has an NP205 t-case, Dana 44 front and detroit 14 bolt rear axles.

in the long run it would be cheaper for you to buy a smart car now..

But the manhood man, the manhood! Everyone will remember the cool trucks but no one (other than accountants) will remember us shelling out big bucks for them.

Its got a 3 speed manual with a granny low gear so its realy a 4 speed im not sure what model it is. Its got about 300 miles on the new motor im thinking about getting hearders but tomorrow the girlfriend and i are going to give it a tune up and take the mufflers off and run straight pipes for awhile. I totally agree with you hickfarmer! My ford has the 5.8 351 winsor in it and i love it but its a gas pig but i dont care. Besides theres no fun in a little stupid economy car if it doesnt sound good with a set of pipes and if you cant haul a few wheelers around. Power Ram your right i could put 35's on it but i think 33's will look the best in my opinion. If i go mudding with it ill get fome 35's but i think im going to make it kind of a show truck and driver.

^^^^^^

Your trans is also a muncie M20-good trans! Last week when the batteries went dead on my 9000+ lb tractor I used the low gear and was able to pullstart the tractor- through mud and wet tall grass which can be quite the feat when your tires are like mine and have like no tread left on them.

I kinda thought it was a muncie but i havent had time to research it or look at the marks. This trucks a brute! The girlfriend and i tuned it up today and got it running pretty good for just cleaning the carb and we also took the mufflers off  And we drove it around by my house and in the gravel pit and man i love it! I love the sound of that 350 under the hood and shifting gears its a blast! Now ill just paint it and get some tires and use it as my fourhweeling truck. And eventually a daily driver maybe.
