What is the boost port? Does anyone have one for sale? My trike doesn't have one, is there a performance difference? Has anyone made a homemade one?

Most motorcycle/trike & quad 2-stroke engine have a boost port built into the intake port, you can't buy one & bolt it on  . You can modifi it to make your ride run better. The boost port is the port that is open when the piston is all the way down in the bore. It is on the top of the intake side of the port, on an upward angle. It sucks air/feul into the pipe when expantion starts in the pipe. Its kinda complicated to explain , but I'll try. As the size of the pipe starts to cone out, a vacume is created straight through the cylinder into the pipe, Then the shock wave of burned exhaust reflects off of the reverse cone (the cone at the back of the pipe), & forces the unburned air/feul in the pipe back into the exhaust port. Kinda like a supercharger, but on the exhaust side. That is why the rite pipe does so much for your engine. The timing of the expantion of the pipe makes all the differance in the world. :Bounce :w00t:

You've got the "port" for the boost bottle. I'm sure a classified add would yield the parts you need.

On a TriZ, they are usually taking about drilling a 2nd boost port into the jug. The stock Z cylinder has one, and one of the wrench reporst mentions creating another. I cant speak with experience on how it affects or improves a modified system with the other wrench report mods, but on an otherwise basically stock machine, the 2nd boost port makes no noticeable difference to me. I never drilled one out, but Ive had some with, and some without that I aquired elsewhere. Persoanlly, Id rather NOT have it because it did make it a little harder to set up carburetion, initially.

My other (Original) Z engine has the second boost port. I rode it before it had it, and then aftwards. Pretty big difference.

He's talking about the bottle guys, the one that comes off the rubber part of the intake.
