Well, It all started last weekend (the 19th-21st) when I went fourwheeling with some friends of mine. On the way back at around 4AM, the van I drive started to make a god awful pinging and ratteling. So I pulled over and smoke was rolling from under the hood. The radiator is cracked, and Im sure the cylinder is cracked, as there is exhaust coming out of the radiator.

And all this just 2 days before College started. So I had to try and find a ride to and from campus for a whole week. Not to mention, every afternoon we would go through just about every single dealership in the entire Appalachian and Blue Ridge Mountains. Talk about some mental strain. Plus Homework!

Anyways, the good news: I got a new (to me) truck on Saturday. Its a Black '97 F150 XLT. 4.6L V8. 80K miles. I got it from the origional owner who kept every single recipt, and wrote down every oil change, tranny service...everything. Absolutley NO scratches. He had a seat cover and floor mats in it since the day he bought it, and the bed has had a bedliner in it the week after he bought it. And its got 31's on it. :naughty:
I'll get some pictures someday.

I was spending almost $600 per month for gas in my Bronco, that was before the recent increase in gas prices.

Blown....How did you manage that!? Do you have to travel a lot for work or what?

Youve got the 4.6 and with stock tires ive seen them get almost 16 miles to the gallon but with 31's i dont know how much it would get then. But id love to get a 97 or later ford pickup i like the way they look. But i also like how easy the earlier models are to work on.

I will still get 16-17MPG....The larger tires let the engine turn lower RPM's while traveling at the same speed; BUT, the engine will have to work a little harder to turn them. It all cancels out in the end I guess

If you want the square body style F150, they stopped making them in '96. '97 was the year they changed to the more rounded front end. But the F250-350 were still square bodied in '97
