Heres some pics I snapped today to show a buddy of mine. Right now she sits with melted rings. I'm going to strip her again and repaint the frame white to match the Champion arm I have. Then put on some 84 hubs and 8 inch rims with 20 inch Turf Tamers, seat cover, stainless bolt kit and whatever else I think up.

She looks nice. Did you buy that champion swing arm that the one guy had on here? I remember he wanted to sell it and it was brand new. I just didn't have th 400 bucks to buy it at the time. The champion is the round tubing swingarm correct? If you have the one I am thinking of I will have to talk to you about it.

BGM,
Nice 85. I like the 86 rear fender. How hard was it to mount? Are you using the stock hardware and fender support? Maybe a blue seat cover huh??? Is there a hole in the right side panel of that rear fender? Take some pics if possible. Thanks!

Yeah I bought the NOS Champion off him, its the round chromoly tubing one. PM me about it.
250rulz, it was dead simple to mount, made a new rear fender support from round stock and drilled the bolt holes for the original mounting locations to work. Easy. What are you calling the right side panel? Theres a Ricky Stator sticker there and on the top/rear there is a hole where the 86 fender support bolts to the fender.

Big Green, would you be willing to see if Aussieduner could copy your # Plate. Us Tecate Owners need them Plates. :w00t:
I got 20" Turf Tamers and I love em. Nice score on the Swinger. :w00t:

BGM,
Can you PM pics of the installation? Would the stock 86 hardware work on the 85 frame? On the rear plastic opposite of the ricky stator decal, (other side) is there a square hole? Thanks!

0oh man, i popped a serious woddy over that one. I think i like your T3 better than any others on this site. Those tires look like some serious mudders, which doesn't fit in with your flat track look, but i really dig them. Great job!

Nope, no hole.
Thanks Cliff, means a lot. I ordered 9 inch wheels with 20 inch Cheng Shin ice tires today so she'll sit alot lower and I'm trying to find the seatcover on eBay I want.
Meatbox, don't think I'll be sending my plate in the mail, not worth losing to me.

Here is where I'm at now, little bit more progress made but I'm waiting on a gasket kit and the swingarm to finish it up. Chopped the airbox brackets, resivor bracket and a few other unused items off the frame to tidy it up. I think the white looks great.

I work with a guy who says he has a Tecate. Whenever I want to go riding he always comes up with an excuse why he can't go. I think he's afraid of me and my 200x.

BigGreen, always beets me. I was going to do the white frame to mach my hopefully "champion" swingarm. BigGreen knows what I am talking about with the swing arm. But no I will feel bad for podercoating the frame white. I will be copying but oh well, Might just do it anyways. But it looks good.

Powder coating around here is expensive and expense is an issue for me since I'm in school as well. It'll either be chromed or powdercoated before I'm dead and gone though. Don't worry about copying as I wont take offense to it, no one will ever have an 85 exactly like mine. Do a search for "ange tecate" He has a white frame Champion swingarmed 84/85 Tecate that looks absolutely beautiful!
Hey, 84kxtTecate, who owns Jenn's old Tecate now?

Blazerone22 traded that bandito frame 110 for it to my knowledge. Last i talked to blazer he was condidering a Kx500 motor to put in it. Im thinkin me and him might have to have a Tecate build-off.

Hey guys, been slow going since the teardown because of parts being slow to arrive but here is where I am now. Still have to crack the cases and replace the crank bearings and all the seals then she should be ready to roll. Love the swingarm, tons lighter and stronger then the original and its so sexy. Cranked up the preload on the Raptor shock as well and it has a real nice feel to it. Will sort out the preload settings when the motor is in and I can jump it. Should have it done by next weekend.

Thanks Jeb. Got her done and have been riding since Friday past. Was wondering what size main you guys with similar mods are running? Mix is at 20:1 for break in then goin 30:1 after I finish this tankful. The swingarm has made a world of difference, power is alot more usuable since I'm not fighting to keep the front down as much.

Some for asking, most from buying, tons more added since I've finished. I got the plate by digging around this site and .ORG, a steal at 50 bux. Yup, duct tape. lol

nice swingarm. do you know where someone can get ahold of one like that? a website? a phone number? anything?
BigGreenMachine

These swingarms are chanced apon, I found mine on .ORG where someone had it posted for sale. Its been stored since 85 and never used until now (all muddy and covered in chain grease now). Your best bet is to talk to Oldschoolin on this site about his custom extended swingarms for all popular trikes. Good luck.

man that thing is sweet!
the vented plate really cleans up the front of the bike. i dont really like stock setup with the radiator sittin right there in plain view, but that plate really makes it look like a totally different bike.
btw i have those same rear knobb's from your last pics on my 250r. their a blast for sliding since theydont grip worth (*&%^
