Too bad...you might actually want to try and learn something.

Shop class is cool. Working on things is cool. Working on things to make a living is cool for a few years. Trust me, you won't want to do it forever. I was a Honda "Dealer technician" for 11 years. I never went to college until a little over 3 years ago. Now I sit in the AC or heat, I stay clean and I don't bleed or get burned. My back feels better along with the other body parts that have taken a beating from standing on concrete for all those years.

Get all the education you can while you're young. Work on stuff for a hobby. Don't rely on it for a source of income.

Ok, I'll stop being mom now.

I always did good in school.. never flunked a course.. or a single test for that matter ! But i HATED it all the way thru.

350x has it right.. learn now.. get paid more later, and don't break your backs.

I work in a call centre in tech support.. been at it for 8 years.. i hate this as well. but i get paid good money for not much work.. heck i'm getting paid right now to type this. not bad huh.

I want more tho. Having to re-do it. i'd learn a trade... probably be a finish carpenter, or an electritian maybe... it's never too late to change.. but it's not easy either. We all have different goals in life.

Mine right now include working from home. I don't know yet exactly how i'm gonna do that. but somehow i will find a way. any suggestions ? lol...

Every time i see the yellow submarines i still get teh shivers... lol.... back to school.. bach to school.. to proove to mom i'm not a fool... ( adam sandler fans anyone ? )

I'm also getting paid to write this. I'm sitting at a computer in a Red Hat Enterprise Linux class right now. Just ate a nice catered lunch and will be heading back to the hotel room in the Ford 500 rental afterwards. I am getting my salary + the company is paying 2Gs for the class, hotel, and rental + 50 bux a day to eat.

Tis good to not be a mechanic anymore.

Thats pretty typical for a PA resident. Especially Western PA.

Drinking beer and collecting unemployment.

If you're kidding, I apologize for the flame. If not, get off your ass.

I lost my job in july '02 I started college that fall and just graduated with a BS this past July. I was an auto mechanic from 1990-2001 with not one college credit to my name. Don't tell me you can't do it cause you have a family or anything else. I have 3 kids and had one of them while going to school and working part time.

I get torqued at people milking the system. Find another job or retrain yourself.

Was the amount of money that you get for welfare what made the 200x project to take so long?

I started yesterday (freshman in highschool to boot). Sitting on my ass all summer was cool, but its nice to not wake up at noon everyday, plus I have metal shop for the last class of the day, another class is basicly just for sitting around. Working all day is worth the reward of getting to shop class.

I started school yesterday. this semester I have Physics, chemistry, social studies (basically glorified geography-politics-history) and wood shop. In second semester I get math, english and various mechanics and other woodworking courses. I enjoy school for all I can, everyday I relax with my tax payer supported public education for the betterment of my life. Oh yeah all the ladies and the shop classes and the weight room are cool too.
