:confused: Hi im here to try to see how much my three wheeler is worth? Or try to sell it at the same time, i have a 1985 ytm225dx tri moto. it is black and in good shape. Runs excellent, but needs new clutch. Besides that its almost perfect , but due to age affects is not. I could get pictures if you wanna see what shape its in. Im just trying to get an estimate on the price range. Thanks.

looks fairly clean, get some plastics and you'll get more. For future reference atv ads go in the classified section and pics and all other trike stuff goes in trikesylvannia. But dude you need help (and I'm not talking about the trike :crazy: )

Trikesylvania. BECAUSE IT'S A TRIKE QUESTION. But your also trying to sell it which belongs in the classifieds. The buyer/seller forums is for exactly that. Feedback just like on ebay.

After looking at your pics. I would say only a couple hundred bucks if that. Fix it up some and it will fetch more. Trikes really don't have good resale value.

You have to use the classifieds. Put FOR SALE and most important your location. Try something along the lines of best offer. Either that or put it on ebay.

In my opinion you'd probably get more parting it out.

well i wasent trying to sell it , i just wanted to kno if i made a good deal on buying it for 100$ , it was not running, and had a few problems. I fixed it up and got it to good running condition. I cant get any ORIGINAL plastics cause i wouldent know where to get them and plus im only 16 without a job. Ill probably just try to get new bars and a fmf or better pipe. But thanks anyways on ** OPINIONS, i seen a non running junk yard rusted crap trike a honda 200 sx or x or somthing , going for around 500-700$. So i wouldent know why mine would go for less.

As is I would say it would be worth about $200 as long as it runs well.

Well, I was flipping through your pics, I would say $250 is about as much as I would pay, I kept flipping through the rest of you pics and hmmmmm.... I don't think you should have put those trike pics in the same folder as your others...hahhahaha :lol:

here is a pic of it with the back fender its the only plastic that it had from the previous owner , he never sanded the orignal baby blue of it and painted it black so now its chipping off.

1) Clean the crap off the back fender with 00 steel wool, leave it blue.
2) sand, with 80 grit emery cloth all the exaust use high heat black or silver to fix the rust.
3) go to a fabric shop buy black vinyl (the best you can afford) and very carefully stitch a new seat by using the old seat vinyl for a pattern (home ec at a high school will do an awesome job for you if you have access).
4) clean up the LOWER half of your motor with scuff pads etc, after you clean all the grease and crap off it, repaint with Tremclad gloss black.
5) Look for a wrecker of ATC's in the Vegas area, someone may trade you get plastics for labour ;then you'll have a pretty little trike you can be proud of. Otherwise a fender and tank cover will cost you a couple hundred new and 50 - 60 if you spend a bunch of time searching for what you need.

here are some pics of my back fender , today i spent a good hour of sanding and scraping and wet sanding to the original paint. I dont know why i should keep the original color when the rest is black and the fender is the only blu and plastic i have. Do * guys think it turend out ok?, from what it was before.

Ok the back fender looks ok, now you need
1) a blue tank cover, front fender and head light shroud, while you search for those;
2)clean up the motor / transmission and use high heat tremclad gloss black on every thing that was black, polish to a shine, or silver (high gloss high heat) everything that is silver.
3) do an oil change, grease every zirc you can find.
4) fix the seat - it'll cost you 15 bucks.
5) Make sure you ride with a helmet, (DON'T get on it without one) no one here wants to hear of someone breaking their necks
6)talk to your auto shop teacher, buddies, dad, what ever, some one will know where an ATV wrecker is start buying the plastic you need to finish; used is good enough, if your lucky a headlight shroud and fender will cost you 50 - 60 bucks (Blue Yellow, red or black), the tank cover will probably be expensive, ask, ASK POLITELY people on the board near you, some one will probably help you restore it to a resonable standard, learn to ride it, it's alot more fun than a quad

Pull the bars back where they should be.
Put the dash back where it belongs & get an ignition switch for it.
Get rid of that headlight if it's not the correct one, otherwise the headlight shroud won't fit. (when you get the shroud)
Change the oil in the rear differential. Use 80-90w hypoid gear oil.
That blue color isn't paint, it is the color of the plastic.
You mentioned clutch problems, is that fixed up yet? Might just need adjusting if you're lucky.
This might seem like a lot of trouble / expensive but if you take your time & keep your eyes peeled for the parts, it will be worth it.
Just cleaning that back fender up has made a big difference, looks way better.
You obviously have internet access, so research your trike & see what it is actually supposed to look like. These are sharp looking machines when they are in good shape.
You will get alot of satisfaction / pride out of doing the rebuild that this trike needs.
Like darrel632 said, they are way more fun than a quad. Your trike will gradually increase in value as time goes by, (if taken care of) whereas a new quad only depreciates in value.

ok thanks for the help guys, lol i kno how to ride my threewheeler and a whole bunch of stuff. thanks anyways i just dont kno where to get plastics for it. ill probably wont keep the original blu look i dont really like it but it does look good if * spend some time on it. I juss want to get the front fender and maybe the gas tank plastics and then paint them all white, (white and black would look good) the work on the back fender is nice for a paint prep. Plus like i said before i have no job and have absolute no income, so its kinda hard to get alot done with it so i have to make due with what i have. i dont want to restore it to the original look , i want a racing look. I want it to look badass. Im not really trying to hard to get it done quick because this is vegas and * have to have some way to get it to the desert and thats kinda hard. I do ride it in the neighorhood and around my house. Ok the jimmy rigg guy before i got the trike thought a RECHARGEABLE battery and a car head light and some wire and a switch would take care of the missing light. its ok i dont need a light and the jimmy rigged one looks fairly ok. SO im not really tripping about that , and the plastic for it. He also installed a car alarm with ANOTHER switch hooked to the batt. and though he try to make it sound like a cop siren. He was a weird tweaker. lol. So i plan on ripping that out soon. Ok my clutch isent fixed yet, i need new clutch plates 2nd gear and 5th are completetly smooth and the rest are eat up, so whenever i get the money i will get new ones and install them. Hopefully thats why it doesent move when in gear. I also wanna get a dg or maybe someother performance muffler, or maybe get the end peice and weld it onto the existing pipe. (w.e looks good i guess) maybe i will cut the old one off and weld this fmf pipe on. Then i want to get rim spacers so the wheels wont look so small and kiddy to the frame. (have some look to it) i want to sand and paint my rims but dont kno what color skeem i wanna go with yet. probably white also. Ohh yea my handle bars are bent from a revious accident i had when i was pulling a wheelly down the street and the grab bar scrapped and flipped my trike it was all good , so now my bars are funky but its all good i cant ride it anyways , i was thinking about getting a new head (neck and bars) assembely.
