View Full Version : 38mm Mikuni Compatibility

I have a 38mm Mikuni TMX that I need a different jet needle and needle jet for but can't find it online. I have however found the correct needle and needle jet but for a 38 mm Mikuni TM, anyone know if I could use the TM parts in the TMX I have?

pretty sure that all of the mikuni 2 stroke carbs use the same hex main jet. just at different sizes.

Yes yes I'm aware of the like main jets but its the needle and needle jet I'm asking about. Ordering the parts tomorrow in any case.

well today I dug up my stock 34mm roundslide. It was going to be used first but a broken main jet (overtightened) made me put the 38 TMX on. so today i took the main out of the TMX and put it in the 34mm, 260 - 460, just to see if it fits. so now I'm going to order a couple mains and jet this little sucker. already moved the needle clip down to the lowest setting (stock was 4th clip from the top) and the stock 40 pilot should be fine. Any other tecate guys wanna share their stock carb settings?
