Kind of a nostalgic thing for me. About the same as guys with classic cars. My first off road vehicle was a 86 350x back in 1990.

For one, no one has seen one so I get the greatest looks. I went racing MX and you shoulda seen  , it was awesome . And I love the power to weight ratio. They are cheap and still in great condition, I bought my 86 Z for 1800, a 250r quad is like 3000+. Great conversation peice. Love to blow past people thinking its only a "3wheeler" like a Big red or something like that. and they are fun as hell!

Trikes forever! :TrikesOwn

I love them because I know if something is in my way in the woods I can pop a whelie and have no worries. Also when you go on a hill climb that 4 whelers cant do and get to the top the feeling is awesome :w00t:

Dammit!

They're like the mutts of the off-road world and everybody knows mutts rule.

I like all motorsports but I like the nostalgic and rare piece also of three wheelers. I think you can set any Mint 86 Racing three wheeler on the showroom floor of any new dealer and they still look modern and cool next to all the new quads all the while being produced 19 years ago. Also, the individuality between the manufacturers really shows 20 years ago. Now with corporate mergers all the new machines are starting to be part this and part that and they all are starting to blend together to me. Plus they are fun as H*%@ to ride.

I love 3 wheelers because i can ride them better then a quad or a bike

plus, they look sexy when they are polished right up

I like em cause I wanted one (a 350X) when I was a kid and couldnt afford one. Our neighbor had the sweetest 86 and would never sell it. I hounded him for a decade and he'd never sell it. He finally did sell it and the guy thrashed it.

Trikes are different. You don't see them everyday. They're cool.

I love snowmobiles, dirtbikes, and quads too. Anything that has a throttle and will go offroad is good with me. I've owned them all over the years. Still have 3 out of 4. I miss my KX

I have a rare disease called Trikenosis syndrome.... any time a cheap trike comes along it somehow ends up in my posession?????
No really though, I grew up on them, got my 250r when I was around 16 and still have it today( 10 years later). I like the fact that they are light and fast, and like OC250r said they are all unique in their own way. They turn sharp, wheelie easy, and are just a blast to ride!

I'll tell you what guys,I Love trikes cuz i've been riding them since I can remember'Thats along time',And because it became an obsession for me .I have built some of the sickest trikes and when you putz by a group of Banshee's and I'm on my R,guess who there looking at ,It ain't there budy's quad.Trikes are the muts of the atv world but what people don't get nowadays is that if it were'nt for trikes quads never would have evolved to what they are today,OVERRARATED!! Now we really can't knock our fellow riders on the quads, they just don't get it! They never felt the addrenlin running through thier veins as you hit 5th gear and the front end is coming up! Nonethe less I've been riding ,racing ,repairing ,restoring and collecting these freaks of the atv world all of my life and I will love these machines not cuz of the money factor but for the passion!!!!!!!

Because they usually have a 3 times better power to weight ratio compared to a four-wheeler. I stayed neck in neck with a Suzuki King Quad 300 on my ATC 110, and mine had smaller than stock tires, meaning I lost top end speed. Had I kept my oversized meats, I probably would have slowly crept ahead...

I used to have major drug problems and when I got clean is when I got back into trikes. They've helped keep me busy and helped fill the void after getting clean. Now my only addiction is TRIKES. :TrikesOwn Who knows these trikes my have saved my life in a strange way.

i love alot of things about them, but the most is when you ride ** sweet trike down the street, you dont get the kids that think thats cool looking at you, every one outside is looking and people in cars, and there thinking wow its a threewheeler and it looks good and its running!!!!! Most people would think stupid kid ridding his loud bike down the street, but they see a trike and think wow i remember when they used to make those back in the 80's i cant believe he is ridding one. Its a great feeling to have somthing so rare that looks good and still runs like it was the 80's to own. Trikes even turn the most hating peoples heads/ and they like what they see and wished that was them ridding it down the street.

1) they take quite a bit more skill then a 4 wheeler to ride and definitly take more body english to make them perform right which looks cool

2) parts are relativly cheap and exciting when you find a rare OEM part

3) fun having a 20 year old machine that is in great shape

4) gratifiying when you find one ready for the grave and you save it

5) gratifying when one is too far gone but you help others rebuild theirs by parting it out

I will add I love 4 wheelers too but think they are getting carried away with the engine and chassie size of machines. They are so big that body english barely effects them any more.

When I was a kid, on my bicycle I did 2 things. Ride wheelies and get sideways emulating my favorite Speedway Riders (Mike Bast and Alan Christian). Well, We all know what Trikes do best !

Also, riding Trikes is something a lot of people like to give Me crap for. "They're dangerous", "Why don't You just get a quad ?" I've always been an outcast, so they can just keep it up, I'll ride Trikes until the day I die.

Lastly, I've made some great friends through riding trikes.

Make that one next to last. There's just nothing like the feeling of a Trike.

Trikes were in my family since I was a baby. Basically grew up on them and never let them go. And also the same reason I like standup jet-skis, because it takes some skill to actually ride them, and not many people like them. To bad for those people.

Everyone's made real good points I guess i like them for some of the same reasons. They do require more skill, which makes for a more satisfying ride. Also, nostalgia is part of it. When i was a kid, i used to visit my cousin's cottage on a lake, and we drove his big red all the time. Aahhh, the memories. :) I only got my trike recently and it's not working right yet so i havn't had the pleasure of people staring at the bike almost in disbeleif(wondering where the other tire went), but i'm looking forward to it. And my trike also need a lot of work, and i can't wait to see it looking like new, but i'll enjoy doing the work till then.

cant add much more that what has been said but ive never owned atv's or dirtbikes at all ..growing up on the upper eastside of manhattan I didnt know anyone that did own anything offroad. im now 28 years old and live in socal and can actually afford a new quad however im the proud owner of 2 atc's and would'nt trade them in for any new quad out there. after riding raptors and z400's i still think my trikes are 10x the fun. i still ove riding quads but the trikes are more fun period.
