Hi everyone. I recently posted a thread on my lovely 200s's problems. It was running fine before i decided to restore it and took it all apart to make it pretty. Now its pretty but wont run, the spark plug wont give spark and after about 20 sec of having it on (starts on 1st pull after cleaning spark plug) the atv cuts off and the spark plug is gunky oil-ified and have to clean it faaaar too often. There is no smoke, if it helps at all... I tried the advice i was given earlier, and even re-built the whole carb but later found gas was infact getting where it should, but dirty spark no light it... when the spark is produced, original power is restored and it jerks you encouragingly. What needs to be done to prevent the gunky spark plug?

Thank you- David

is your air/fuel screw turned in too far? its the upside down screw on the carb, should be anywhere from 1 turn to 2 1/2 turns out.

I would think that your machine is running way too rich... WAY too rich.

Took it apart and now no spark. Common for motorcycles with bad wiring. Take a connector apart, plug it back together and it fails. My CDI plug did the same thing, weak orange spark, or no spark at all till I reworked the wiring harness.

Go around and wiggle wires and unplug and reconnect plugs and see if it improves, also check the frame ground connection - clean and tight?

Yeah, dont bother with the carb when you know the spark is bad.

Possible bad rings.
