I have 2 of these and am currently building / fixing up one of them. I will have some extra parts when I am done. I had full plans on parting out the left overs.
But, before I sell anything I must also get my KLT185 going also. I say this because a lot of the parts innerchange. ;)

Howdy, are you branching out to include some Kawi's in your line up? Next we will be seeing yellow...

Branking out? I think NOT. The 3 runners ( KLT200, KLT185, KLT160 ) will be sold once they are running and tested. The KLT200 is actually ready to sell. It runs pretty good and isn't in that bad of shape. I may sell them as a package on Ebay. ;)

Well here is some pics fellas what do you think??? She runs but rough and needs some tlc. I just thought it would be sweet for my son to have something like my big red but smaller when he's old enough. I might just pass and get the 73 atc 70 only that I won on ebay. It would be nice to have both but my wife says different

Oh and here is the 73 atc 70 I have to pickup this friday. Not a bad little machine and needs little to nothing.

On Sunday I just checked out a all original except tires black KLT 160. Only thing I saw it needs is the muffler repaired because of hole and someone repainted the tank and did a 1/2 fast job. I think the fork leg holders were repaited too otherwise in fantastic shape! Started right up, ran great, reverse worked, plastic real good and not broke, seat excellent, just overall really nice and doubt you'll find a nicer one since they are quite rare. Needs a bit of a cleaning up but it certainly wasn't filthy. Oh yea, frame is great too.
It is a 160 yet it's black like this 185 http://www.kawasaki.ca/museum_atv.html#1980s
I'd love to find a nice duckster in good shape, there pretty cool I think :beer
He is firm on $500 and I'm sure it would fetch 750-850 on ebay. You would be much better off to travel this distance
http://www.mapquest.com/directions/main.adp?do=rev&mo=ma&src=maps&1gi=0&un=m&go=1&2ex=yes&1c=Slatington&1g=kyTfCnCRW9A%3d&2tabval=address&1l=RseJzOOCxKk%3d&2c=Rutland&1da=%2d1%2e000000&1rc=Z1XAA&1n=LEHIGH%20COUNTY&cl=EN&2g=oApJ2G5FD9c%3d&1s=PA&2l=X2IUEz%2fjKvE%3d&ct=NA&1v=ZIP&1y=US&1tabval=address&1z=18080&1si=gdt&2s=VT&2v=CITY&did=1128995831&2y=US&rsres=1
and pay 500, then buy that one for a 100 and put a few 100 into it and it still would'nt come close to the condition this one is in.
 Piss me off too, I brought my camera and forgot the memory stick. It's only 10 minutes from me though. Any one interested?

I look at it this way...........It will take you way more then one day to fix up the one your looking at + a few hundred + probaly some skinned knuckles and greasy ones too + breaking a few parts and this one you just sit behind the wheel :p , relax  (check out the nice views), pick it up :Bounce , drive home and your done practicly! Which would you rather do?
Oh, and this one STILL has the original tires and I said everything but.
Send me the $$ and I'll bring it up for a 100! Seriously! :beer I like cruising.
So for a lousy 600 you can say you have the rarest machine on 3WW :naughty:
I'd buy it myself but i am picking up the 2nd rarest machine........a 87 125M :naughty:

I wish it was that easy for me but it isn't. Thanks though I will just stick with the atc70 for my boy :w00t: :w00t: I'd rather have a Honda anyways since they are easy to fix and eassier to find the parts. I was looking at the klt160 parts market on ebay and there wasn't much at all. I'll just have to wait until friday night and get that HONDA :TrikesOwn

Yea, I can see where your coming from and I'm trying my hardest to get a 70 just like your talking about! The guy just doesn't seem very energetic to sell it yet it sets year after year! :(

I think saying it would be the raest machine on 3ww would be a bit of an overstatment. Sure there aren't a lot of them but you can find them still.

whats rare a black klt160?
brendan802
10-11-2005, 12:32 AM
They not rare just not many left in this world. I wouldn't consider them as rare as a Tiger or the husky trike for sure. Just nearly dead to the world and could be rare in other peoples eyes I guess.

Me Too !!!!
I even went to the guys father to see if he just made up the story that it is someone elses but the father didn't know much but did remember gis grandson riding it.
Isn't there some sort of law that if an item is left for 3,6,9, months or however long it may be (the law) that the item is yours then?
Every 6 weeks I see the thing and check it out but yet can't take it home. I deliver fuel oil in the stations tank in rear and there it sits 20' away from me in another garage! Most definitly should be mine!

Not even close to the rarest. Here are some rare ones: Cagiva's, Nickleson Turbo, Project ATC, 1973 ATC70, just a name a few. Heck a KLT185 is rarer than a 87 125m. ;) hehe
The ultimate rare machine would be a 87 250r or 87 350x.

Yea those are rare too but it still qualifies for one of the rarer machines for sure and then to find one in good shape yet that's another story. At least in my area there isn't many.
What's a Nickelson Turbo? Project ATC?

I like the KLT160's myself. I have one that I am slowly gathering parts for to do a resto on. I think that the red ones are a little more uncommon that the black ones as I have seen a few black ones but no red ones until now. Some KLT110 parts will fit as well like the fenders (if its a front suspended 110) front forks (same deal) I think that the gas tank is the same, seat, hubs, wheels, and all sorts of other little things. Makes the resto a little eaiser. Mine was in great shape to start with (other than the exhaust) so this really isnt a hard project for me. Mine even has the Kawasaki front and rear racks.

Mymint87, has a Nicklson500 Turbo less than 100 made and it does look cool. For the life of me I can find the pictures though. arggggggg.
As far as the Project ATC goes. It was a 3 wheeler tricked out for 3wheeling magazine back in 1980. I bought it straight from Dean Kirsten ( Oldfart here on the forums ) : http://www.3wheelerworldforums.com/showpost.php?p=224226&postcount=9
I also don't want to forget about Mikefrom Fortlauderdale: He has a Honda200r. That is another RARE one. ;)

Thats kinda odd looking, is it a 110 that was customized into that machine? It is neat though.

i have 2 klt160's. i had both on ebay twice and i still have them. one i'd say is a parts machine but could be fixed up. and the useable one has a 185 motor in it. klt160's are nice but i've been trying to unload mine for a while now and can't find anyone that wants them.
