removing needle from 86 250r flatside carb?

i just need to know how to get it out and put it to a diff setting. its running to rich, im going to lower it a click. can anyone tel me how to get this thing out?

I think you just pull the slide. Disconnect the cable from it. Then unscrew the thing the cable attaches to with a socket. After that it will come right out. I know that is a bad description.

Hard to explain. Pull the spring up so its not touching the slide. You will see how the cable hooks in the slide and it should be self explainatory how it comes out from there, just hooks into an opening, kinda like a round slide.

With one hand, hold the spring up and pinch the cable. Push the cable down and out the opening on the side. Then, with a phillips screwdriver, turn that part 1/4 turn and it will pop off. Neelde slides right out the top.

If you are lowering the clip it will richen it, you want to raise the clip, that will lower the needle and lean it.

Loosen the carb clamps and rotate the carb so the cap points left, that way you dont have to remove the carb to get the slide out for field changes.

does the spring pull out or is it supossed to be unscrewed or something? im having trouble getting it out of the slide

the spring should juss pull up out of the way. then grab the cable and push down and it should come right off.
