Came across 2 trikes Saturday.

1983 200S. Looked great but had some engine noise. Cam chain? Drove great. Had plenty of power Rear fender had cracks. Torn seat. Good shocks. They wanted $450.

1983 185s. Great condition. Good plastic. Good seat. No dents in tank. Good shocks. $400. Didn't drive it but I started it. Sounded great.

Are these acceptable prices? I already have an 82 185s but I was looking to get some more trikes. I really wanted the 200x they had but it sold for $650 about an hour before I got there. I would like to get some full suspension bikes but if these are good deals I may pick them up.

What do you guys think?

1. There is no such thing as an 83 200s.
2. I dont feel that 200cc trike is a good deal.
3. On this 185s, do you mean front suspension?

The owner said it was an 83 200s. Doesn't mean he is right though, it did say 11/83 on the tag underneath the gas tank. Maybe it is considered an 84? Looked like a 200s. Had the front shocks, rear trunk, 200s on the side and mudflaps, blue stripes, stiff rear mudflaps.

The engine noise bugs me. I think you are right that it might not be a good deal especially if I have to tear it apart and replace the valves or something else inside.

The 185s did have front suspension.

I have no idea what these things go for when you just buy them directly from the owners. The only prices I have seen is on ebay auctions and some of the prices you guys have posted.

Anyway, thanks for the reply.

Yeah ,you are basically looking at the same machines,Basically! The 11/83 date on the 200s would be an '84 and the 185S with frt suspension was only on the '83 models ,the last year for that model.Honda's always have that cam chain noise to an extent but if you can visably notice it then it needs replaced, cost woul be @ 100.00 for You to do it I would imagine and then the plastic, there's 100.00,so I guess you figure how my coin you wanna spend. The 185s sounds to par but the 200s given its state is pretty iffy! But I live in Mi. and those 200S's are common I have no clue on the value where you live .

For So-Cal those prices are spectacular... It's hard to ask people on the boards if the price is good, because good is relative... relative to location, and your personal opinion... I say try and offer him a package deal price man. If you don't care about cosmetics, then they won't cost you too much. If you are anal like me, then they would be a money pit!! Good luck. By the way, pictures would help this discussion!! James

Yeah the prices are pretty good compared to what I've seen on Ebay.
The 185s is very nice and the 200s needs a little work on the rear fender in addition to the engine noise. I'll keep thinking about 185s.

There is another 200x for sale too. :naughty: http://saltlakecity.craigslist.org/mcy/102584490.html I'm going to look at it too and see what kind of shape it is in. I'd rather have it than the 200s anyway.
