Just got a good deal on a plow for my 86 Red. Couple of questions. Does the chain in the middle of the lifting bar hook on to one of the holes in the front engine bracket and where does the rear of the frame hook up to?? I read somewhere on this list that it hooks onto the footpeg brackets but I can`t find the post and the plow frame seems to be too long to hook on there.:wondering

I've seen a few different setups in action.. and honestly.
I prefer the manual lift types vs the winch type.. faster action and alot easier to use.
but nice setup.. make sure it clears the front fender..

I have never used one but the winch was aready on and the plow came with the manual system so i will be able to try both after i make some brackets for the back and add a drop of black paint.

that looks awesome, good find!
looks like you may need some custom brackets to mount the plow on a pivot from the foot pegs.

Sweet. I've only heard of them (ATC plow), never seen one. I talked to a local guy who has one on his '86 250sx but never heard of one for an '84 BR. Supposedly it works great! I'd love to find one for my big red. It would be nice to clear the driveway quick after a light snow. Big Red Farmall Tractor takes care of the rest...

someone that has a plow should take some measurements and draw up some plans so the rest of us can build one.

The ends of the plow frame hook into brackets that mount between the frame and the footpegs using the existing bolts. That chain on a Cycle country set-up hooks to a bracket that mounts the the motor mount bolts. If you want I could take pics of my set-up and post them up. My cycle country plow works with a manual lift and its easy to use.

Who makes the plow set up for the 3 wheelers? Does anyone know of a current company still selling them?
manufacturer, brand, ??
I like the idea of some one drawing up dimensions of theirs so the rest of us can try and make the frame???

I actually might be trading some parts for all 3 of the cycle country plow brackets. If the deal goes through I will be posting them up in the classifeds here.

I wish someone on here would make plow ''kits''.Everything to mount it and raise/lower it but the plow itself,to save on shipping and overall cost you could just add your own plow. You can get lawn tractor plow blades on craigslist under $100 usually.
hint hint hint somebody make these!LOL

I have everything except the foot peg mounts and the one that hangs under the gas tank on the engine mount. Not telling my age i just cant remember what they looked like to make them nor can i find any mounts online. i have purchased this machine brand new in 85 nad i purchased the plow with it. its a manual type, and i have plowed a lot of snow with it. I now live in sc and you dont find to much snow here. I even have the orginal set of chains when i bought it. all been in a garage for years. still runs like a champ. anyone with those mounting bracket pics I would be very grateful.
Thanks

I found this walk-around video on YouTube. The guy has 3 walk around videos. This link is for Part 1 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=utwARpn0YUk
He's also got a bunch of good videos of himself actually plowing with his Big Red.

I know this is an old thread, but I may be purchasing a plow this weekend for my 250SX. This was really helpful and thank you again for sharing this video!
