It's snowing outside again, so figgured I work on the trikes.
I had a couple of NOS parts to install...... The Fairing and the Chrome HL Lens Grille.
Here are some pics of the process: 1st one is of the HL taken apart and 2nd is of the Chrome Grille installed.
3rd is of the 250r after the HL assembly is removed... 4th is after the installation of the Fairing Mount.... in the 5th pic you can see the little ruber cap that is used to protect the speedo cable from damage..... 6th pic shows the cable routed through the little guide (easier said than done).

1st pic here shows the HL assembly mounting on the Fairing mount... 2nd shows the cable going through that little guide and "being protected" by that little rubber peice.
The rest of the pics are of the fairing on the trike...... or at least partially.... There is some sort of problem with the monuts that attach the fairing body to the fairing mount  The top mounts up fine, but as one of the pics shows, the bottom is way off...

Nope, it's right... if it was upside down the cable guide would be all messed up.
Thanks for chimin' in though Mike.

wow...thats kinda weird, the angle of the mounts and all...it looks like if they were bent to line up with the holes, the tabs would fit the angle of the shroud if you know what i mean...it really looks like something is backwards haha but then it looks like everything matches up fine...
can the fairing be angled forward mroe to make it a little closer to the mount?

It can, but than the headlight gets all messed up.... urrrrr... I'll probably go out tonight and play with it some more.
This is what it's supposed to look like:

you may be right...see those little holes/tabs around the faring near the headlight? It looks like a piece could snap in there and then be bolted to those mounting brackets...the angle looks right for something like that

Those little holes around the headlight are for a rubber insulator that goes around the headlight. Its only 3 sided and wouldn't fill the bottom area.
Can you take the 2 top mounts (black triangle looking widgets that the top mount bolt threads into) off the inside of the fairing and rotate them 180 degrees. That should move the fairing closer to the headlight on top and then maybe the bottom will be close enough.

Sorry guys I should of mentioned the little rubber piece....
Rich, that sounds like it might work........ I'll try it out tomorrow.
But I remembered, I know who has a 250r fairing with the mount on it.... maybe he can show us some pics of how it mounts to the body and which way the "triangle" piece is facing....

Yeah... sorry... been out of town for a few days and PC-less!
Phil... I'd guess that the clamps that go around the forks are mounted wrong. What exactly is the Fairing hitting on that doesn't let the bottom slide in??
Did you follow the Hondaline Instructions I sent you??
Aain... I'll take some pics tonight of my 2nd bracket mounted to the Fairing.... however, I think it's in the mounting clamps on the forks, and I fdon't have those to take a pic of.... you got the "complete" NOS Hondaline KIT for the 83-84R.
Now... the other thing maybe this.... When I was looking for the Blue fairing part number for a fellow friend on the board here, I ran across a "ATC110 Fairing Body (RED) and a ATC110 Fairing Body (Blue) listing... Your fairing came off a 110... wonder if the fairing body itself is different??? I always thought they were the same, but why would they list a part number for 110 Red seperate from the 250R one??

maine triker, the fairing set and windshield look awesome on the 250r. i was thinking all day friday about how i could custom make a windshield and fairing.
but then again i wouldent need it, because my bike runs crappy enough in warm weather, id be surprised if it started in cold  :(

Yeah the fairing looks great. Gives it a nice old school look. Even though it already looks old school. I like it!

Followed the instructions to the letter..... The problem is that the fairing body is to far away from the triple trees and HL. The bottom will "slide in" fine, it's just that the fairing will be facing way downward and be hitting the headlight!!
Please check on your fairing, Bruce, which way the "triangle" peice is facing.
Now, it has crossed my mind that the fairing bodys could be different like you said.... I just hope they're not  .
Will be waiting for your pics.

Thanks for the pics Bruce. Looking at your pics, I can see that I do indeed have everything the right way... so... looks like I'll have to go out and just mess around with it a little till I get it right.
