1985 Suzuki lt250r quad

I am talking to a guy about his suzuki 250, i havent seen the condition of it but i know it needs new plastic. Would that be a good trade if i gave him my tri-moto 125 that needs a rebuilt engine? would i be getting ripped off, are they a bad model?

maybe hes talking about the 250 four stroke atv. if its the lt250 then its an awesome trade, if its the quadrunner its still a good deal.

URGENT---The guy didnt want to trade, but he wants 500$ for it. How much do you think is a good asking price for my TRI-MOTO 125 worth? I dont have any pics but the plastic is very good on it, it has brand new tires with a new front winter tire. It has very good rims and is all there but the engine is seized, ill just say the engine needs a little work and hope someone falls for it and buys it. But what do * think the TRI-MOTO is worth or a good asking price? THanks-- reply asap any input will help

not only is that crooked, but totally wrong. if i ever was mislead or lied to in a pruchase such as this, i.e. being told the motor needed a little work, when it needs a total rebuild, id go back to the guy who sold it to me and knock the s*** out of him. i think everyone else would do the same. make the buyer aware of it being seized, dont be misleading.

i wouldent pay more than 200$ for a bike that is seized, if i bought it id use it for parts. i sugest you sell it as a parts bike.

You might beable to get $250 tops. Depends on the condition. I also wouldn't rip anyone off. I know I would be POED if someone did that to me. Just be honest and tell them whats up with it. $500 is a great deal on a LT250R. Snatch that thing up quick. Just look over the frame expecially the front shock mounts for cracks. Also look around the swingarm for cracks. I'm sure you could have someone reinforce the frame for cheap. The '85-86 didn't have powervalved engines. '87- '92 seem to be the most desirable years for the LT250R.

well, im not so sure if the engine on the tri-moto is siezed, all i know is that when you pull the pull start to satrt the engine the rope only goes up about 10 inches and then stops. So could that be transmission trouble? Or a broken Piston?

yeah dude seriously dont rip them off. My friend got a 230 quadsport and the previous owners said you had to pull start it to get it running (and it didnt come with a chain so we couldn't test this). So we took it home took the top end off and they had gummie worm molds put into the head bolt holes. That was the first thing that pissed us off

Then we checked the rings and they were like 80 thousanths!!!! They are supposed to be like 20 thousanths!!! So we had to replace the rings, the head bolts, and that was all we thought we had to do. We got it running and oil started dripping out the crankcase (hmmm I think the previous owners has a little chain throwing issue) so then we got a new crankcase and finally got it going good.

Then he let it run low on oil and siezed the piston!!!! It smoked like a S.O.B. and now he is in the process of rebuilding this thing. And now I might get this devil child.

Moral of the story... DONT RIP PEOPLE OFF! I makes life SUCK for the buyer.

yeah i had a bad dealing on the 250r i bought. The pictures used in the ebay auction where not resent pictures and the bike barley looked like it did in the pictures. Well he had also told me that it was in perfect running conditon and only needed a little cosmetic work. Well when i got there the bike had no gas, oil or coolant in it (he said it was beccuase he was getting ready for it to be shipped) So i was not able to test drive it. Also the exhuast was not on and when i asked him why he told me he had taken it off to clean the engine out real good for the pictures. lol yeah thats when i flipped the heck out and told him he was full of crap. Well after arguing(sp) for a while i told him to go to hell and i took my trike. Well the next day i put gas, oil and coolant in it to get reay to ride. Well when i went to put my exhuast flange on i saw that 2 of the 3 bolt holes where all messed up. So i then said oh well ill just use the one bolt on one side and an pair of vice grips on the other side for now (I realy wanted to ride this thing lol) well i then tried to install my pipe and it wouldnt fit so i was like wtf. So i did some research on here and realised that it wasnt even an atc pipe it was a trx pipe. By now i was furrious (sp) so i called him up and called him every bad word i could think of. We then came to the an agreement that i wouldnt destroy any of his property if i got some of my money back and he bought me a new pipe. lol so he then sent me my money and pipe and that was the last time ive had contact with him. I still havnt take the head off or the cases apart. so im still a little woried what else im going to find in there. I think the conterbalancer is messed up because it vibrates like crazy
