250ren, There is no point in having just the tank. the Tank is only0 needed when you have the tripples which changes the steering geometry for short track;). People more in the know will tell you more

Yeah, putting a short track tank without anything else is like putting a speedo display without the gearbox

Wow nice analogy! 250r'en, you will find that to have the short track tank you wont be able to do it on the cheap!. No way round it, it is gonna cost you a fair bit.

MY Honda guy has looked at the shrouds and one is discontinued and the other is on backorder with no ETA.The stock radiator cradle can be modded very easily, its just a small metal tab that has been spot welded to the bracket to lay the radiator back about an inch.

I was wanting to get the tank, then get the shrouds from aussieduner. Better airflow to the radiator means more cooling, which means more performance! Not to mention I like the look of the long extended shrouds:naughty:
Oh by the way Phil, 250R were only meant for experienced riders as well. The ST kit gives you tighter turning. You of all people should know that with time, and the proper judgement you can learn to ride anything safly. I don't think you just hped on a 350X one day a opened it up now did you? You gain "experience" by doing something. You're never going to know how an ST kit handles of feels if you never use one.;) :beer

you guys are forgetting one very important thing, a short track kit isn't for most people. A short track kits is for short course racing, NOT trail riding, harescambles, poker runs as the tank holds alittle over a gallon of gas. I have one on my bike and yes it nice, you can get your wieght right up the front of the bike and really weight the front end, but its not always needed, I ride mx and I don't always cut the wheel more than the stock setup allows, but when I do, its nice to be able to. With my short track kit it seems as if I'm constantly putting more gas in bike.

i agree with deathman, i can do about 12-13 300ft drag runs with mine before i need to gas up...that doesnt end up being much time on the trail...

I get about 10 laps(about 1-2 miles) around the mx track before I need to put more gas in, thats a 30-45 minute trail ride. There is a very good reason why I put a 4 gallon tank on my woods 250r. big tanks belong on trail riding 250r's, small tanks belong on mx and tt 250r's. Most of you guys can attest to how long your stock 250r tanks last on most trail rides, now cut that in half.
