225 idles high

ok well im stomped i cant figuire out why my 2225 idles high im 100% sure there arent any air leaks. i started it up and soaked everything with carb cleaner and it didnt idle higher also it smokes black??? which means its runnin rich but why would it idle like its lean?i tried screwin with the air screw and the pilot adjustment

Take the carb apart and spray out all the tiny lil passages---It sounds like the pilot picked up some junk

Does the throttle cable screw in the top of the carb? If so and it was taken out recently then it my be 180 in the wrong direction. Turn the black piece inside till it seats down again. That will make it rev full throttle without touching the gas.

If your carb isnt like that then clean it out and make sure your throttle tensioner isnt pulling on the throttle cable too much making it rev high.
