Who here likes seafood. I know I do. This lady I helped move to her lovely home on the beach in plymouth came over today. She bought me and my family a 10 pound lobster. This sucker is huge! Sure is going to taste good either tonight or tomorrow. Heres a few pictures. The banana is for size comparison. Kinda crappy but oh well.

If that sucker is still alive.. cook it before it dies..

I personally HATE the suff.. but my grandfather was a fisherman.. and my whole family loves it.. me.. no.

But . i do know they should be cooked alive.. boil up the water. add lots of salt.. and drop him in.

once they die, they turn to mush... and loose flavor i'm told.

Even if you only eat it tomorrow.. cook it NOW...

And you simply pick them up by the tail end / back.. they can't reach and it's not that bad.

if they DO get you tho...... youch..

i'm afraid to put a crayfish on a fishing hook. I'd have to cook it now cause I'd be afraid it would escape at night and drag me off the bed! :(

Well I ate it. Delicious! It was mostly me and my brother that ate it. Still got a giant crusher claw left for tomorrows lobster roll :w00t:

I went to Maine a few months ago and learned a few things about buying Lobster.

There is a hard shell and soft shell. The hard shell you get more meat and is a bit more expensive but doesn't taste as sweet as the soft shell. A 30 year Maine resident guy told me this.

Personally though, I couldn't tell the difference in taste. I learned another thing too............once you eat so much of it, it just becomes like a pizza or a burger and it really isn't a "special" treat anymore. Thats the way it got in Maine anyway, after 5 days of it we were sick of it!

I'm ready for more though, now that it has been a couple months.

Also eating them at a typical resturant they are not much cheaper but get them at the Lobster docks and you save a bundle. :beer

A 10 lber though RM250 .......tha's HUGE!!! We didn't have any near that size!

i used to work at red lobster, and we would do whats called split and clean.you put the lobster on it's back and stick a knife in between it's feeder arms.then put pressure on the knife and roll it down it's belly.next you peel it open and scrap out the guts under cold water.pull out the poop tube in thier tail, and they are ready for stuffing,or steaming.man that was a fun job!!!!

The hard shell is before they shed and grow in their new , next size up , shell.

depends on wich season you get them.

What's called ' Canners ' i'm told . taste better.. smaller but more tender.

But god i hate those suckers.

Wow, that thing is huge. Is that normal to get one that big? Ive only ate one lobster and it was about the size of that *******'s claw.
I personally prefer crab over lobster though, its sweeter, lobster tastes kinda bitter.
