Well, you may have known that i have been looking for a new, bigger trike to upgrade from the 70. ive found her

i cant wait any longer to tell some more people :D its official im going to pick up my 85 Tri-z on saturday. Shes not the greatest looker but she will be a great project for me to do. I saw her in a picture of a 70 for sale on ebay and i emailed the guy asking if he was interested in selling it.shes costing me $725 but i intend to spend a bit working on it to get it back looking stock, so painting the frame and fork boots etc. These are the pictures of her that i have right now. She is a runner and all she needs to ride are pads fluid and a little attention, but as i said i will be doing a fair bit of work to her. I will keep you updated and post some more pics when i have picked it up and got her cleaned up!

Thats a nice looking Z. I'll bet she looks pretty good under all that muck. Not a bad price either. Good luck with it and let me know if you need any parts for it. Anything. I have enough parts to make like 5 TRI-Z's and I have to make room in my garage for other stuff. I can have my wife or brother mail them to you. Oh, and the parts are free of charge. Just pay for shiiping. Welcome to the world of 250cc 2 strokes.

Hahaha man, holy crap! Thats almost like when MIK6 went and brought 2 Tecates home in a Jeep cherokee. I'm guessing that the rear view mirror visibility was low  Have fun putting it back together and taking it on its first real ride.

Got the pads now pete, i paid a fair bit tho but i know they will last £16 and a got a new plug. I had a dodgy coil ht lead but i will be trying to repair it if possible, other than that shes running nicely now ;) just gotta get some grips, levers and fit those pads and make the rear brakes work and another 25 jobs lol and it should be ready for riding.

Ive decided while im learning to ride her that im just gonna fiberglas on the back on the mudguard to hold the cracks together, im bound to have a spill sometime and it would really pi55 me off if i rolled it onto some £220 mudguards  but once i got it mastered i will be making her look prettyer;) i wont be able to do too muhc work this weekend as school has dumped a LOAD of work on my in for monday:cry: but ill try and get some photos and the brakes, coil, and fiberglassed mudguards sorted.

Hey Will is there peaces missing out the fender??? or is it just cracked?? if it's cracked drill holes either side of the crack and then zip tie it together....much better than fibre glass, and stronger too.....

slothminx
11-23-2005, 03:55 PM
Theres a small bit missing about an inch by two, i thought if i did the glassing on the back would look a bit better, but now i think of it i do have some yellow zip ties ;) I think i should really be putting the brake ahead of the plastics but ohh well!

staceyl200
11-23-2005, 04:32 PM
Hey Will Yeah I,d go with zip ties also , Ive not used them on a trike but have used them for repairing my plastic toolbox which gets a fair amount of abuse and its still holding together !!
