Any one else xcept me ever ride the main roads??? I live on a dirt road and there's of other dirt roads the connect to it, in fact the farm I work is 3 miles on the main road(1 mile if I take the trail) I've been luckly enough not to get stoped by the cops but today my buddie/neighbor(who lost his lisense till may) was going about 7 miles down to a small town on his 82 ATC-185, I was in town about 3 hours latter and was in the genarel store geting lunch and this DEC officer comes in asking is anyone had seen anyone on a red 3 wheeler going into town, no one said anything of course(we small town folks look out for each other) he said someone(A.K.A some A$$hole) had reported a 3 wheeler riding on the roads. Anyone else have any interesting stories about this topic?

I was caught riding on the Blue Ridge Parkway and ticketed. The queer thing is, is that the road was closed and there was about 5" or so of snow on it. The park ranger actually followed my tracks about a mile through the woods and up the main road to my house. :? I still go out there when its closed...I just use a different route so he will have to walk 10 miles and be completely lost.
I ride on the roads all of the time. I usually go out with a friend. Just the other day I was riding my enduro and my friend was riding my minibike, we were going down the main road to my house. A van cop drove right by us an we were going pretty fast on the shoulder of the road. He didnt flick his lights or turn around or anything he just kept on driving. A few days after that, I was down at a neighbors house letting him try my enduro, and another van cop showed up. He said he was looking for somebody that just robbed a local McDonalds. The neighbor was on the bike and it was running and all. The cop just told us to watch out for the guy as we ride around LOL. And we just got a ton of snow so you know I was out on the ski-doo safari 377 lol.

I got lost a few years back when riding in the Pine Barrens (New Jersey) at night. After a couple of hours of looking for our campsite I did the only thing I could, I drove on the Garden State Parkway for 2 miles on an '86 ATC250r, took it to the exit we got off to go camping, and rode the roads a couple of miles back to the campsite. That is the God's honest truth. I had to ride the 250r on a 4 lane highway on Thanksgiving weekend at 9 or 10 in the evening and there was a lot of traffic. Oh, to top it of I only planned on puttering a quarter mile or so up the trail so I had no helmet on and the trike ran out of gas about a mile from the campsite on my way back. Thankfully I was already in the woods when it ran outta gas. It was kinda scary at the time but looking back on it it was a great time.

i ride them all the time i try not to go that far. i just get to were i need to go. i like them because i can test my 250r's speed and it is just fun to see peoples faces because theres not to many performance three wheelers in my general area. i have not got chased by the cops yet but its problably only a matter of time before that happens. there is one bad thing about rideing on the roads is you can not do anything if a car or some one causes you to crash because your not supposed to be on the road anyway.
This situation has resently happend to me monday when the north east had all that snow. i was rideing my r down this road with my friends i was at least doing 50mph. when out of no where i hit this mound of snow left by this guy plowing his driveway. well it sent me flying head first on to the road destroying my helment and damn near snaping my neck and sent my r tombeling to catch up to me. well i get up and then the guy moves the mound of snow. as for my r i just scruded up my head light shell really bad. what really sucked was riging home with no visor on my helment for about 5 miles in the blizzard.

here down in miami, all we do is ride on the road.. the cops dont to much bother us only if its a bunch of us right in the same spot for a period of time. then youll get someone that complains about the noise, police comes and tells us to put em up for a while.. but we usually ride from neighborhood to neighborhood.. we have thing from dirtbikes, banshes, my 250r ... ig ot plenty of tickets before on it... when i got to court i just tell the judge that i fixem and i was out ona test drive when i was stopped... after that the case is dismissed...

Roads, no thanks I'd rather have the trails

I love riding my trikes on the road. I ride 'em around a small town, where cops are 20 minutes away and don't come by often. There's a lot of gravels roads we use but often to get to the trails faster we take the high way or other paved roads. There's nothing like passing cars on the trans canada high way at 80 mph on a 250R :) We've only been spoken to by the cops once, and chased once. When they spoke to use we were in our yard so they couldn't do trailprotrailprotrailprotrailpro.
lol @ 250sx :D
There are no trails where I live in minnesota. The only place where I can ride is gravel roads. I live between a town with one cop, and another town with many cops. But they never go down gravel roads anyway.
But in the winter time, snowmobiles drive through both towns all the time.

I got 2 tickets for $50 each. I didnt lose any points because at the time I couldn't drive. (15) I qualified for my learners on Jan. 6 this year but my parents have been working, and when we do go its usually closed (the gov't is closing most of them down here in Va.) Im going on Monday to get it so wish me luck!! ;)

Crying shame that we can't ride trikes on the road... I mean if dirt bikes and modified 3 wheel bikes like harleys can drive around on the road legally, why can't our trikes!? (aside from the obvious reasons like never came with indicators and stuff, offroad tyres etc) :(
We can't even drive them offroad here in Western Australia legally! You need to get em 'offroad licenced'. If you get caught by the ranger its a $200 fine or something (but thats if they can catch you hehehehe).

Me and a freind of mine were riding on the edge of some old ladys yard to get to a neighborhood were a freind of ours lived and when we came back a sheriff was waiting for us. The sheiff couldn't really do anything besides turn in our names for tresspassing and tell us not to do it again. Where I live the police cant touch us, but the sheriff can. I often find that old ladys are grotchy and hate atv's and especially atc's.

My friend cousin lives in poterville and got to drive like a 1/4 to get to the trail, never been caught yet. One time I was riding my friends suzuki 125 dirt bike and he was on mine 110, at his house, he gunned it then I gunned and I passed his alley and their was a cop accross the street and I tried turn around and I tried to hall ass out of their but I stalled the engine. The cop told me to come over to him and he asked where my helmet was (in my truck) then he told me he could take the bike with him and get a ticket, then my friend showed up, and cop checked the vin, because he just bought it so it didn't have green sticker on it. The cop told us not to do it again. :x

My brother gets all worked up because you have to register a snowmobile and you can ride it on the road (somewhat) but you also have to register a fourwheeler and you can't ride it on the road. It pisses him off. :x

In utah all you have to say is that your crossing the road. The state says you have to cross at a 75 degree or something like that.I remember when i was like 5 years old we were camping and my family. was like 5 miles from the rest of our family.and me and my dad was on his big red.and the cops came and we took off and went off the road and went in this little gully thing.waited about 20 minutes and and went the rest off the way.LMAO :clap
Here in Nevada, you're supposed to get completely off your atv/dirtbike, and WALK it across the street. Since my 3 wheeler doesn't(well, didn't...still down right now) idle, I have to kick it into first and rev it a little to get it across the street, lol!
