Anyone tried racing their trike in so Cal?

I am wondering if any of the so cal district 37 clubs would allow trikes to compete again. These are desert racing clubs sanctioned through the ama. I used to race desert for years and the flyers always said no 3 wheelers. I wonder if I went to them and pleed my case they may make an exception? I assume they were excluded due to to the "ban" .now that it is over maybe the they will let trikes in. The insurane companies they have can't still be excluding trikes anymore. Maybe they will let me race in 250 quad class. I'm going to look into this. Wish me luck.:beer

no but you can come out here to the east coast and race with the rawl dogs,roiugh riders,errfff!! sincerly 3leggeddog not the speed bump!!!!!!!!!!

It can't hurt to try. I bet if you get all the details worked out and trikes are allowed you'll get some other riders in the area interested.

If you are good on that trike, you could probably do quite well against those overweight 4wheeled things. :D

it's very hard to compete with the quads.they corner better,jump better,land better,and the geomtry of the bikes today is setup for mx.hard to beat em on the mx track.good luck though,i'm sure you'll spank a couple

This would be pure desert racing. When I raced in 86 I would beat most of 250R fourtrax's in my class. We were shut out in 1987. On the 40-50 mile loops we do in the desert I usually beat even my fastest buddies on their 250R quads and raptors. I think I'd get spanked atMx for sure but I'd like to attemt another desert race just for fun. I'm going to show up for an upcoming hare and hound and see if They'll let me ride. If not I guess I'll just playride the course.......Dove
