Shaft drive is either YT225-or YT 60?----Does it have Air vents around the headlight cover?

not running....don't know picked it up for a project over the winter...kinda looks like the one in your pic but it has a wider front tire...i think i seen a dx on one of the plates that are mounted on the wheeler...it a centrifical clutch

Does it have electric start? The DX & DR had electric start. The chain drive ytm 200 had just pull start & 3 stud wheels. Yours is shaft drive though, right?

Yamaha 225DX (225DR if it has reverse)

-electric and pull start
-shaft drive
-front and rear suspension
-auto clutch

it's a pull start and i can't remember if it has fins or not...ytm 225 sounds about right..it's locked up and i need to get a service manual on it and on my 1970 us-90

the honda needs the clutch re-installed ..got it with it out and don't know how it goes back..lol

That 90 needs a special clutch nut tool to get the clutch on and toqued properly...honda still sells them or you can probably get it from a specialty tool store...called a spanner nut wrench not sure what size anymore...been a while lol

If there are no cooling fins- and only a pull start its a Yt60 trizinger.look at the base of the cylinder - you will see a displacement stamp - on either one.

Another way to tell it it is a YT60 is if it only comes up to your knees!:D

no..it says 225 1986 on the vin stamp plate..so i know it's about a 225cc...and it's taller than my us-90 and my son pw50 but not as tall as my predator or scrambler500

Tri-ZNate

he already said it might be a 225cc so that should rule out the 60cc.

lol-- Yt60 is also a single speed centrifugal clutch.---and probably worth more--lol

If it is a 1986 and 225 then it is a Yamaha YTM 225DR.

Truthfully---Its just me -I think Harleys are way over-rated, And for $35k--it better have toast and eggs waiting for me in the morning. I can buy just about any "Jap" bike I want for 1/4 of the price ---and its faster and prettier. Yeah, I have my "Hippy" moments --But not at the cost of a new Cadillac.

I dont like the looks of the new ones but the old ones are pretty kick ass.

Unclediezel

Thats because the older stuff was "Hooked up" by a special breed of human being-called a BIKER. the new stuf comes with that Cheap A** "Plastichrome" and an enormous price tag.
