Just wondering if any of you have seen any of these kits installed? How do they perform? I hope well because I have one on its way.

I would never use one, a exriders member explained in long detail how the brackets change the angle of the tie rods and can cause horrible bumb steer, they also move the shocks to a different angle that adversly affects how the quad handles. I'd stay far away from them.

What the kit manufacturers always fail to tell you----
The "Mother manufacturer" spent tons of time and money developing these things- Designed around safety and reliability----Im not saying that pipes and jets should stay---"Mod it out -till your hearts content"--But think before you change something that affects a safety issue.......

I agree with both of you if it was on a full out race quad and it would be hitting 40' doubles and whoop sections.
But this is for a 7 year old with no fear of speed. It won't be jumped more then a few inches off the ground its entire life. My thought is WIDER is better.
I was just wondering if anyone had seen one in person. If they had seen any break or bend. I know it will probably loose some good handling characteristics to gain others.

I think it will work fine for his needs Josh, Should increase the quads stability greatly..

i'm not saying this quad is gonna be jumped off a bridge.. what i'm saying is look at it... it's a metal plate.... i don;t have kids of my own... my GF has a little one... and i;d never let her ride on a quad with that on it... the thing justy doesn't look very safe to me.... thats just my personal opinion..

1: How do you know it will make it handle horrible?
2: Have you been around one of these kits installed on a quad?
3: Have you ever ridden a quad with one of these kits?
This guy on ebay has perfect feedback, so they can't be that bad.

Go for it, it's a kids quad. He should be fine and like you said he'll be better off wider.

They area big improvement on the track, but are a disadvantage for trail riding or cross country type racing in wooded areas.

That sounds great to me. Trust me we don't have many trees around these parts. LOL

if you;ve ever looked at the best handling quads the frame section up fornt is thinner... providing for a longer control arm and alot less bump steer... making the frame section wider will only add to the bump steer it also changes the pivot point on the frame.. creats more side load and such... i haev seen these for alot of quads... this kit may not be as big of deal as the others i;ve seen (blaster and warrior) like you said it is for a kid quad... the pic i saw in the auction looked alot like a thin piece of metal... this is all only my opinion... i just wouldn't trust it if it were me... little kids tend to hit things....

Kinda funny every race quad I see, they use +1-3 a arms, and a +4 or so axle, are are usually even width wise..

look at the front of a 250R frame and the front of say... a banshee frame..
now we all know a 250R blows a banshe outta the water when it come to handling.. the 250R frame is narrower.. there fore using a longer control arm.... look at the best handling quads you can buy.. 250 R, YFZ450, 450R... all use a narrow style front frame section...
at any rate we are talking about a TRX90... and that kit just doesn't look safe to me..... thats my opinion and if ti means nothign to anybody but me thats fine.... remember WE ARE ON THE INTERNET

another reason the trx250r handles so good is that the frame is bent and tilts upward rite behind the Aarms. the banshee is flat from the foot pegs to the front.

yeah the R has a upward bend in the front frame section.. it helps the shocks handle bumps alot smoother because the suspension works at an angle instead of straight up and down
