Thought some of you might like to see some swinger pics. This is a naked +1 83R swingarm. It's a quad tube, truss style constucted with 4130 chromoly and TIG welded. Even the hounting tabs are 4130. This is an OEM style made to use all stock parts.

Another Question a guy here wanted $400 to polish my Cal-Fab:eek: do you polish and if so what should it cost? For that Much I could of Bought that New Champion swinger and sold my Cal-Fab.

Thanks a lot guys!

The welds are great but I have to be honest, I hire that part out to a specialist. I haven't bought the TIG yet Billy but it's on the list for someday. Right now I'm having too much fun designing and fabricating stuff.

Meat-Box,
I've done a couple but I'm no mass producer. I don't polish and sorry, no ebay auctions. Everything is pre-order for now. I will probably bring a couple personal machines with them mounted on to TF06 but besides that and the website I'm not super active in advertising.

PM me if you have anymore questions, I’d be happy to answer them. Thanks for the compliments.

Hey Frank, what kind of Jig setup do you have for holding the pieces together while its being welded to keep everything straight and in alignment? I need to make one for my tripple clamps and I need some ideas...

Have you made one up for a Tri-Z yet, I'm still really interested in the updated one, I've already started pricing out 400ex rear ends.

Sorry to resurect this post, but HELL YEH.This must be what I saw on that tecate I was just asking about in the other thread.I dig it.Oldschoolin,How much for a Plus 2 for a Z?I would have you leave out the lower pivot hole for the carrier because my new banshee carrier won't fit the stock location.I would have you do the upper adjustment slot though.

Yamahauler,
Does everything line up fine if you use the 400ex carrier.Like the sprocket and brake rotor,Or do you have to use all of the 400ex rear end?

Indeed it would! ;)

Mostly I enjoy the quad tube look. Square is easy, I guess I was just looking to do something not as common.

Sorry, I haven't had an order for one yet but it sounds like a +2 "updated" might be worth making just to show.

For the "updated" swinger you need everything from either a 400ex or 250r; carrier, hubs, axle.

Oldschoolin,
Hey how much would it be for a quad tube +2 for the Z stock carrier.I would end up having you leave the lower carrier mounting hole not drilled,But do the upper slotted adjustment hole?I have that banshee carrier so I would need to drill the lower hole where it needs to be.
Thanks,

ATCWRENCH

the stock swingarm doesnt weigh quit that much. it oly weighs about 13-17lbs. the factory ones where aluminum. at least thats what all the articles say.

There was just a brand new Champion+2 onE-bay I think Tri-Z tunes got it. That swinger is rare. Check out Ange's Red TecATE. His is so sexy its on the Tecate Thread that just came up this week.

I dunno looks like a little more heat then necessary was used, may have displaced too many carbon molecules causing a brittle weld area....

wont this lower the bike? the 1plus looks like the rear dog bone mount is moved back 1 in. everything will sit lower.

diggerzmound
12-08-2005, 06:00 PM
But +1 will also put your carrier out 1" too and following an angled path downhill, that would also raise the bike, resulting in equality of loss gain

which is also 1in further. were the top mount for the shock doesnt move. which would mean that shock would stretch an inch, resulting in a lowering affect. im no rocket scientist. just, in my head this is how i see it.

would like a professional answer to this

Done correctly you will need an aftermarket shock that is designed for a lengthened swingarm. Not only will it change the ride height but longer swingarms have more leverage on the shock.

I think im picturing it the same as you max. To me, the more horizontal the shock gets the lower the back end would get.

The shock mounts in the exact same location.Although it is a +1 Or +2 he make the mount for the shock in the same place as if it were stock. You are correct on the leverage though. The longer the swing arm the more leverage and pressure is on the shock. This is how I picture it in my head anyway.Hell I may be wrong.

Yup^^^

The mount is not +1, just the carrier housing.

Not a chance, that weld is top notch.;) I think the enlarged pic is making the pattern look bigger then it is to you.

Can you explain the difference between the updated swing arm and drag style? I was looking on your website. It probably won't be too soon, I want to get my new 450 & get the 250R running first, but I would like a little longer swing arm on my 350X. Not for excess power but for hill climbing. I really have to get up over the gas tank on some big hills.

I'd go with OEM or Updated for that. Updated simply means that it takes either a 250r or 400ex carrier and axle. The Drag style are lighter and have a few different carrier housing options.

Summer '06 I will own one-OOHHH YES I WILL OWN ONE!!! I like riding on all sorts of terrain,Ice racing,Maybe flat track,Not much dragging. What do you recommend +1 or +2.I like the sharper steering, but it would be nice for climbing for the front end to stay down a little more.I really don't want to loose to much of the tightness.I think maybe +1 would be enough for me.What do you think Frank?

I think for a Z I'd go +1 on my own machine. It's really a matter of personal riding style and choice.

i will defintly get pics up of it on the bike.looks super siick too me.

as far as the strength of the welds,we will find out this summer when the outdoor mx season comes around.i plan on jumping the sheet outta this thing and don't want to end up like virgils' 426.i am sure they will hold look good to me but i'm no expert.i guess some people can just look at a weld and know if it will break or not,no thats some skill there:rolleyes:

thanks for the swinger frank.hope fully it will let me put all that honda power to the ground!!!!!!!!1
