:( ell, My home computer died yesterday. (Im at school now) It keeps running MC DOS mode (I think). I have no idea how to get out of it so I hooked up my other tower and It still won't let me get into this site. Says it cant locate the server or database. So, if anyone has any ideas Ill see if they work (when I can get back online at scool or at a friends house) so, I wont be responding to this post but please give me some information on the DOS thing. Also Ill see if I cant fix it w/ a sledgehammer (hehehehe)
Thank you

???? what operating system are you running. do you mean safe mode? If you are running windows 98 or something (which you must be because 2000 and above doesn't use dos at all) then hit F8 right as it boots and choose normal instead of safe mode..and try that out.

Hey! I got my old computer to get on the site now but its very slow (like 150mhz). Waterpumper--Its not safe mode but like I said, its MC DOS mode. I have Windows 98 and and I have been in the program setup system (F1 on my computer) and there is nothing in there to change it. :( Oh well...I will ask my cousin who is a computer genius about it.

This mill is a Athlon 700 overclocked to 770 with a ton of other tweaks, it runs well for what it is but just not enough horsepower for some of the modern applications and software.
Anyway, the easiest fix here is to attempt to back up anything on the hard drive. Once this is done, format the drive (Format C:\ in your dos mode), and reinstall windows or whatever other flavor of os you are running. It's a pretty common thing to have to reinstall windows and such on systems where the problems have gotten to the point of no return or you think it would be more efficient spending 2 hours reinstalling or 8 hours going through trailprotrailprotrailprotrailpro. Especially on the older systems with older operating systems.

Hey, Hey, Hey...I'm back. I finally got out of that stupid program. Turns out it was MS DOS and not MC DOS ( :? ) The damn thing was starting to piss me off so after 4 days w/out a computer I decided to play around w/ it to see if I cant do something about it. Well after an hour of typing stupid things, I typed "START" and it said it cannot run in MS DOS mode. Since my little fried up brain started to think again, I typed in "EXIT DOS MODE" and it restarted the computer and returned to Windows 98. :-P :-P Only if I was smart enough to type it in in the first place. Well, thanks for all the help anyways and now Im going to try to delete the program.

Wrong!! Don't even try to delete DOS. I've never tried but I don't even think you can. Don't mess with it. This is only a warning.
