I am looking for parts for a '79 ATC 110 but Im not sure what years will
work with what years. Anyone know the Generation Dates of the 110?

Anyone here consider themselves with an above average knowledge of 110's?

Thanks for any input!

The guy I am getting it from talked to me about it and said when he was removing the exhaust, the bolts broke off because of so much rust. If i am not mistaken, the bolts in question EXTEND from the cylinder head, not thread INTO the head... right? So if this is what has happened, do you think I could weld in new studs after grinding down the old rusty nubs? Or is the cylinder head a material that would make welding risky or impossible?

Exhaust studs thread into the head, which is cast from aluminum. Welding studs to the head is not recommended as it will not work! Remove the damaged studs, and screw in new ones.

Thanks for your reply, Mo'

So the exhaust studs thread into the head and THEN are threaded on the exposed end for the nut that holds the exhaust pipe on?

These pictures I have are of a 110, but not the one in question. I stole them off of ebay and added some pointers to show where i am looking at...

Here they appear to be male ends extending from the aluminum head. So do these pics illustrate the studs already screwed into the head? Or does it show that the studs are actually part of the head, are stationary, and are threaded at the end? I'm confused ...

They are threaded both ends(RH),on my sx. If there's enough sticking out,try vise grips. If not, carefully grind flat, drill and E-Z out. Last resort= drill & retap.

Both ends are threaded on 110's. The studs have a small unthreaded area in the middle otherwise threaded from one end to the other.

With over 18 machines ( 90's and 110's ) at the shop I can safely say this for sure.
Depending on what part you need there is many different years that will work. As a rule the only difference between the ATC90's and the 79 thru 81 110's was the cylinder and piston, seat / rear fenders, and stickers.

Reading the post above: If your looking for a head you can use one from any ATC90 and All Honda ATC110's. The only difference in the top ends are in the 82 and newer 110's they use a different cam and have a 12 volt CDI ignition.

The exhaust studs are screwed in and some times can be a pain to remove. But they can be removed. If you don't want the agrivation let me know I have heads. hehe

Both ends are threaded. If you have the time, soak the studs with a good penetrating fluid(my fave is brake fluid) and re-apply every day for a week or so. They should come out real slick!

Thanks for all the great responses, guys!

Howdy, may be talking to you in a month or so when i get this trike to my place and survey the damage. From what i gather per my phone conversation with Dan, the guy I am getting the trike from, he said the studs snapped off when removing the exhaust due to all the rust... so that makes me think they are snapped off in the head with nothing to grab on to to unscrew them.

How much would you charge me for a 90/110 Head? ...prefferably one what wont need bored, etc.? Do you have 110 exhausts as well?
