I have a 82 185s and it runs bad.Actually it starts in the morning with one pull. After it warms up it seems like its flooding out with the choke off.Its smoking and you can tell its gas, rich.Also it doesnt idle its real low.When i take it for a ride it seems like its missing or loading up but when i smash the gas it goes good then its fine.Well today i tried to set the carb.I turned the screw on the bottom of carb all the way in and backed it out about 1 3/4 turns and then I turned the idle up but when i did this it really didnt go up at all but then after a while it raised way up like it should of then i turned it back down something is sticking or dirty tell me where i should start. but its still flooding.Now what its doing is idiling hi then it goes low but then all of a sudden it idles normal.Anyone have a clue whats wrong.The plug is good. WHAT IS THE CARB SETTINGS ON A 185S AND HOW DO YOU DO IT THE PROCEDURE.I CHECKED FOR VACCUM LEAK WITH IT RUNNING BY SPRAYING CARB CLEANER AROUND THE CARB MOUNTING FLANGES NOTHING HAPPENED.
Also i have a 84 200m and it runs great i read on this sight how to set the carb and i did today also because it always idled a little low.I turned the bottom screw all the way in and backed it out 2 1/8 turns started it up and let it warm up fully and then turned the idle screw till it idled about 1300-1400 then they said i should turn the bottom screw in till it died and then back it out one full turn THE 3 WHEELER NEVER DIED SO I TURNED IT IN TO ABOUT SO I HAVE IT TUNED OUT ABOUT A 1 3/4 AND IT RUNS PERFECT BUT WHY DIDNT IT DIE AND WHAT SHOULD I LOOK FOR NO THERE ARE NO VACCUM LEAKS BY THE CARB.
