You ARE aware that engine-powered three-wheelers have been OUTLAWED in NY State....right? Because they are so UNSTABLE they KILL people & cause SERIOUS INJURIES...right?
So....how much longer are you going to let a six year old ride one....with a broken neck or snapped spine just waiting for her?
Don't believe me? Just type the words "three-wheeler" & "safety" into your Google search engine.....mine brought up over 14,000 pages of links to articles telling you all of the good reasons such items are considered UNSAFE, HAZARDOUS JUNK! Guess who will be held liable??
Maybe you'd like to try advertising for small engine repair...all that kills is the ozone.

RESPONSE to come when it comes up on craigs list.
Its in Craigs list under syracuse and motorcycles
Any response would be greatly appreciated to inform this idiot that Trikes are as Deadly as any other ATV or Croth Rocket

Get off your soap box idiot. You obviously have no clue as to the Fun and enjoyment you can have on a 3 wheeler. They are not outlawed in ANY State to ride. They just cant make them because of people gettting hurt because they didnt know how to ride a Trike. If your going to stand up on your soap box know the facts and anyway you should keep your opinion to yourself. My 5 Year old Niece has no problem riding her little 3 wheeler. It has a Rev Limiter and a tether Switch. The 1st time I rode one I put my foot down going around a corner and Ran myself over. Lesson learned. Will you get up on your Box and Whine about Crotch Rockets that go over 130 mph. No so shut your mouth and keep your lame opinion to yourself.

All the more reason to sell me all the 3 wheelers in the area. Maybe I will put a rider on one with no experience and see if I can get him killed. In my 20+ years with 3 wheelers I only crashed once. That 1st time I ran myself over. It was funny but it hurt and I never made that mistake again. As for my niece she is more than capable and mature enough to understand that she could get hurt. Proper Teaching builds Proper Riding skills. Which you seem to have none of, and I have about 30 years of experience with all ATV's
I bet you let you child ride a Big 4x4 ATV and if you dont have any, then what do you know. Why do you have to bash my hobby as Im trying to have fun and save the original ATV from extinction. You possibly Couldnt Understand. Your too Ignorant

Thats what I had to say:beer

Preach it Brother. Those fools don't know what they are talking about. Hell, most of the people that have given me the same lecture have never even seen a three-wheeler. People just need to keep they're mouth's shut, cause it isnt they're problem.

Yeah, I get the same thing here.

There have been more deaths around here on quads but people see my Big Red and it's," oooooooooooo you better get rid of that thing!" Those things kill people.

Yeah and so do helicopters and small airplanes. Both of which have killed more people that I have known personally than cars or motorcycles.

Seems he forgot to mention how many people cars kill and seriously injure around the world every day - maybe he wants to ban them too. Perhaps they are unsafe, or is it just the drivers?

Mind you, he probably does as he sounds like some pipe smoking lentil munching tree hugger (apologies to any pipe smoking lentil munching tree huggers on the forum)

Fact is, that everything you do in life is a calculated risk, from getting out of bed onwards. I would like to think, that with correct training and the thing that seems to be sadly lacking in most people these days - common sense, you can lessen those risks to a point where they are almost non existant and you can get on and enjoy your hobby. Sure, accidents happen but unfortunately the majority of incidents are not accidents - an accident is unavoidable, anything else is either caused by an untrained idiot operator or some other idiot who involves you in their stupidity.....

You hear this all the time even over here in the UK, you know "they're banned arent they, really dangerous etc" as people jump off their crossers etc but the funny thing is, after they tell you that they ask you for a go, and then they get offended when i say "no because you wouldnt be able to ride ride it, youll get hurt and my bike will get damaged". Makes it worse i suppose with it being a hopped up 70, as i believe they are the most unstable (prepared to be corrected) due to the shorter wheelbase and track - guy i know has a 110 and it seems a lot more stable (although flat out the hybrid 70 eats it!!!) and ive come off it myself, and run over my own leg as posted above. Again, few bruises and lesson learned - i wont do it again.
But then, it also amuses me that you get this lecture off some guy with his lad on the field with his new quad (no throttle stop or other such safety features) letting his untrained and obviously idiot lad run full bore over and round everything whilst wearing no helmet! I am not being hypocritical when i say that, as i choose sometimes not to wear a helmet but again - thats a risk you weigh up for yourself and if it all goes wrong theres only one person to blame, however i reckon im safer on the field on my trike that on the road on any of my motorbikes (mainly down to the lack of car drivers - back to other peoples stupidity again)

Anyway, thats off my chest.........

Back in the day when the whole stink was going on and factorys were beginning to feel the heat I read that you were more likely to be killed in a car accident GOING to your ride area than being killed while riding. Something to think about.

Another good thing to show or tell people when they talk about how unstable 3 wheelers are is as follows. When they talk about how a 3 wheeler will roll on it's side on a slight grade, ask them how unstable a motorcycle is on flat ground without the kick stand down. Then you can throw in why hasn't the goverment stopped this "flawed design vehicle." Bottom line is they were affordable and too many people bought them to be babysitters for their kids and gave them NO direction or instructions on how to ride. Probably because they had no clue themselves. Every vehicle has its pluses and minuses, 3 wheelers just got caught up in a media witch hunt. Kevin

ATC90UK, tell us about how Blair and his police are taking away rights of UK Citizens, its the same sort of thing here, ATCs are just one issue where they are trying to do it.

ATCs are safe, I laid on teh ground once and had one jump over me, not a scratch on me!

I didn't mean to demean aircraft in my other post. After thinking about it, I think it is just a fluk that I happen to know more that have been killed in aircraft accidents than anything else.

I used to drive a truck for a living years ago. The media got on that too and then the CDL thing started. I have seen just as many if not more accidents involving big trucks since all that happened.

If I remember right, that was about the same time they were crying about the three wheelers.

The "babysitting" remark I think is dead on. Nobody wants to accept that they may be the ones who actually might have been responsible for the death or injury of their child or loved one.

It's crazy, I've been hurt worse on dirt bikes than anything else, should they ban those?? I have been on trikes for over 18 years now without any injury except for a rained out ditch that got me cut up a bit.... No helmet on so I deserved it but again - no broken spines. I myself truly feel very comfortable on 3 wheels and I'll stay on them for as long as I can. My friends and neighbors think I'm nuts but only because they are uneducated which is not my fault!!!

Yeah. They kill kids and cant have any fun safely on them.

Yeah, I can see they hate having to ride them and frowns on their faces.

If he hates 3 wheelers and atv's so much why would he be looking through them on craigslist, and be doing research on them. Usally when I hate somthing I just drop the subject and move on.

I forgot about my dad's horses. He has five of them.

I don't even try and ride them because when I was a kid, I got hurt a lot on horses.

I went to visit him last weekend. He has a couple of quads he bought for my step sister's kid who lives with them. My step sister's boy really likes to ride the horses and thats OK with me. I told him I will stick to motorsports like the quads, trikes, or dirt bikes. He says he enjoys his quad but would rather ride horses.

I think horses are dangerous cause them damn things have a mind of their own, but I am not one to think they are to be outlawed. I don't know how to ride well and years ago my father should have not turned me loose on a horse by myself. Thats how I suffered a serious injury. No training.

Bet there have been a lot of people injured or killed on horses too.

Forgive me for asking but what is this Craigslist you guys are referring to? As far as the safety of the 3 wheelers, the guy whom you speak of is totally misinformed on them and probably never owned or rode one in his/her life-I see more construction accidents happen weekly than I have seen 3 wheeler accidents-I myself have never been injured other than (like we all have) driven over my foot on the 3rd ride ever, the 3 wheeler if ridden by a qualified and informed rider is as safe as any other all terrian machine, heck you see in the local papers on a weekly basis a quad accident these days-just my 2 cents.

Again, like in similar circumstances, Im just going to suggest that when you present your opinion, you do it in a logical and reasonable, non-combattive way, or you can easily end up looking like the ignorant fool to the average reader. Ive seen it before and was embarassed at the ignorange displayed by some who supposedly represented my side. Think before you type, and represent us well!

Even with horses more often than not its the rider and/or trainer and/or person that takes care of the animal, not the horse. I've been around horses all my life and almost all the accidents I see are because the horse was spoiled or not trained properly. These are the owners mistakes not the horses. Same with the 3 wheelers......

remember siegfried and roy, when roy got attacked by the tiger. he said it wasnt the tigers fault, it was his, he was doing things he shouldnt have or something. same thing with every other activity out there. take high school sports. in football, had a classmate get his neck broke, several others with broken legs, arms, fingers, bad cuts, concussions, i myself got my hip dislocated in football. no matter what your doing, your taking risks. your taking risks everytime you get out of bed in the morning

Craigslist.org is a world wide classifieds page(s). People post free ads and others respond to them. Meat-Box said where the posts are, I'll make it a little bit easier.... Ka-Lick (http://syracuse.craigslist.org/mcy/)

I don't know if this was directed at me, but I was just trying to point out that it is my experience that you can get hurt doing anything if you don't use good judgement or have proper training.

I have personally known people who have been killed by everything from hunting accidents to falling off towers playing with antennas used in amatuer radio.

If you live as long as I have, you get to see a bit of everything.

It was not directed at you. It was directed at anyone who thinks the best way to respond to a post made by somebody who is ignorant of 3 wheelers is go to that forum, to call them names and spew a bunch of profanity rather than give an intelligent response. Making you case with facts will earn respect, even if they dont agree. Responding with name calling and profanity makes trikers all look like ignorant idiots, and has never pursuaded anyone to change their view, EVER.

Ok I get it now.

You know it is interesting though. You would think people would have forgot about all that stuff by now.

We are almost 20 years past all of that.
