I recently bought a used top end for a spare and now that I have it here I can't determine the exact condition of the cyl. head. The cam measures correct and all the bearing surfaces look good. However when I put the cam in the head with the cam cover on it there is some play in the left side cam journal. The clymer manual says you should measure the inside diameter of this surface, but when I look into "table 1" there in no value for this measurement. Oh, this is for an '85 200x.. How much play is acceptable? It does not really slap around too much but I am only turning it by hand. Is this thing any good? Do I need to bring it to a dealer to find out? Thanks for reading this long post.
