View Full Version : ATC 90 question?

I was wondering, are there any other ATVs whose parts are interchangeable with the ATC 90? I assume some of the Sportrax 90 parts are interchangeable but am not sure. What I would like to do, is put a full suspension on it, front and back. I thought maybe I could put a 200x or trx 90 swingarm under it, but I'm not sure it will work. I have also heard of guys putting YZ 80 front forks on ATC 70s, but would this work with a 90? If not what will? There are also some parts I need for the trike: probably a new tank for cheap(this one is rusted). It's not running as of now but it probably just needs the carb cleaned out and some fresh gas(as well as new gas tank, or at least to clean it out, rusty gas don't work too well.).

Can you guys give me some ideas and help?

Honda CT90 Trail Bikes were the exact engine, except the CT had a kicker.

Would I be able to use the swinger and shock from a CT 90 too? How bout from a TRX 90(probalby this)? What would be the best way to go for rear susp.?

...The CT90 is a Trail Bike so I can safely say that the ATC wouldnt be a 3 wheeler any longer if you tried to use the swinger and shock from it (not that you could)....FYI: ATC90's didnt have suspension,

I know that they didn't have suspension. I only asked if I could use the CT 90 susp. just for the info that it could work(probably an ignorant question though, dirtbike susp. in atc?). I know that they did not have suspension, I want to trick it out and put a suspension under it. So can someone help me and tell me what I could do to do that?

And how bout the TRX 90?

how can u put a swing arm on a 90 when they dont have a swing arm. the entire frame is one giant dinosaur looking frame unlike any other trike. the 110, and 125 are basically all the same with interchangeable parts. i'm restoring a 110 right now and have it totally stripped.

how would you put a swingarm on a 90 frame? it doesn't even make sense. u say u know wut the frame looks like. so if u know it's not a tube frame but rather a solid box frame, where the HELL would a swing arm go??????? your wasting your time.

I don't know where a swingarm would go, thats why I'm asking you guys. I want to know your ideas on what I could do to it. I fits absolutely impossible then fine.

But then how did Kasey do it on his ATC 70? Here is a link to his thread at 3wheeler.org: http://www.3wheeler.org/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=2245, check it out and then see if you can help me.

To put a swing arm in a 90 you need to totally redo the frame in the rear. I have seen one a long time ago and it worked slick. But I do know every part had to be custom fabricated. The Frame was chopped up and reinforced to for strength.

What I would like to do is put like a 200x swinger and entire rear half under it, swingarm, shock, axle, brakes, wheels and all. I basically want to trick it out. If anybody has any pics of this it would be greatly appreciated. Does anyone know where I would have to make the pivot points? Also, I was considering fabricating my own swingarm but would rather just take something I know I can get parts for like a 200x.

Any ideas on front forks? Would CT 90 forks work or would they be too high? CT 70 maybe?

Thanks for the input.

I think you should jsut go lookin for a 200X. Theres more 200X's than about any other ATV next to blasters, warriors, and banshees. Theyre all over. You can find "parts" 83-85 X's for very cheap (as in under $400-$500 usually).

What I want to do, is use what I can get my hands on. I basically only want a 200x rear half just to trick out this atc 90. But whatever you guys say.

Plus I've been looking for a cheap 200x for a few months now and have not had any luck at all finding one any where near my area. That is why I have decided to go w/the atc 90 and trick it out. You know, make something different that you don't see everyday. Unless somebody wants to sell a 200x that is in the central midwest(Illinois, Iowa, North Missouri, Indiana).

You'd just be better off putting some suspension forks on the 90, unless you're gonna make a new frame so it can have rear swing arm, the CT90 wouldn't be anywhere near and it had twin shockers on the back I think, not even a plausible connection there!
Plus CT forks wouldn't be anygood they are One peice I think Dirtbike tyre width and they are leading link, not telescopic.

I recieved an email from a guy who had a ATC 70 w/minibike front forks on it. And I didn't mean use the entire frame from a CT 70, just the forks. If I did do something like that then I planned on fabricating my own triples. However hese are just ideas and I want your input.

What of the Sportrax 90? Are some parts interchangeable or not?

Any and all ATC70, 90, 110 from long ago that had rear suspension kits all used a complete aftermarket frame. The non-suspended tube frames were by far the most popular at one time but good luck finding anything around now. These bikes used stamped sheet metal frames and would be nearly impossible to modify.

Ben, dude, you gotta lose the picture you have posted in your sig. It may show up to you since you are a Tripod User, but to the rest of us it is just a Tripod ad. Just a heads up, man. :D

Yea, I know. About the first 2 or 3 times I looked at some of my posts it worked but now it doesn't. Whats wit that? O well, I gotta find a site that will host my sig and actually let it show up here.

Whats wit that?

Tripod doesnt allow hyperlinking, which is utterly retarded and gay.
