ok lets see if I can post these pictures:
Before:

and After:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v105/bethrcno/trikes/sx-after.jpg
I cleaned it up, removed the tank and cleaned up the dents, painted it and the headlight white like its supposed to be, and removed the butt ugly mud flap things someone had made....Is it possible to get remakes of the 86 sx tank stickers? Anyone have the motor mount and bolts that I seem to be missing up front?
Mods, If these pics are too big, let me know and I can try to resize(Im not too great at puters an stuff)

Nice job. Are you going to put a decal on the tank or just leave it white? I must say I also like the front end :beer

I have seen the 1986 decals on ebay I will try to post a link if I can find them, but to me they are reproductions and the lettering doesn't look right what do you think? I need to redo my tank, but I want the original decals also that I have on there. The ones I was refering to was the ones on the bottom from canada, they don't look right, the other ones on top I have never seen before, but look like the right ones. Also put a front brake on that rascal, I put one off of a 250 r on mine, powdercoated it blue also.

Talk to Harlan from MN. His decals rock. I just got the complete set for my 87 Big red and they look outstanding.

thanks for the compliments. Im now thinking of just the Honda with the wings like on the 350x,or if they can be found, thedecals for an 87 sx, not sure yet.The old "mudflaps" are actually the step treads from a Chevy truck rear bumper!!!
Dante, what is involved with the 250r front brakes? is yours the SX front end or an R? Im running the Sx front end with a 250R hub and rim...
I had a pinhole in my tank, so I decided to weld it up...So I "degassed" it by washing the tank out 5-6 times with really soapy water, filling it everytime.(I have done it this way before ) Well after doing this I filled it with soapy water, put the cap on and struck arc......ummmm, it wasnt "quite" gas free yet. I heard "POOOFFF" and took off running. Well I got it all welded up, sanded, bondoed, and painted, went to put the tank on an it didnt fit. I started looking around at the tank and finally noticed that approx half of the tunnel under the tank had pushed out! A little work with a hammer, resanding and painting and it fit again...2 morals to this story:
1...DO NOT WELD ON AN OLD TANK
2...It sure works fine for taking out all the dents!!!!!! and the tunnel:lol:
How'd I ever make it to 38 years old????, Dave

I put a entire front end off of a 250r on it. I originally was trying to put a 200x triple on it, but I would have to modify the frame to get the proper turning radias, I found that the triple to the I think 85 250r would fit with out any mods. The forks were about 6-8 inches longer, but it looks pretty cool. Some one had put this 250r front end on a 200x parts bike I found, I was going to sell it and noticed it would fit my frame, It was important to me that I not make any mods that were irreversable. I still have my original 250sx front end just In case I want to switch back. These front brakes off the 250r are cool, although I have really haven't found much of a use for them but it is cool because when I engage them the whole bike dips down, and I like to get to a cool mud hole, pretend I'm stuck and wait for a son to come around on his 110 and right when he gets to the hole I apply the front brake and hit the throttle and cover him in mud! A Fathers pay back I guess or my inner child? I just thought it would look cool, I powdercoat my small parts as a hobby and I thought the blue looked cool on the caliper.
