How far should the flywheel side crank seal be pushed into the case? I pressed mine in and it seems like it's a little too deep. It's about 10mm from the edge. Since there is no stop for the seal I really have no idea where it should sit. Can anyone help?
Thanks

the seal need's to be .234 in from the ledge"almost 1/4"...iv'e made some insert thingy's for the Mech. water seal and the Stator side seal to get them in to the Perfect Location's .. i'm gonna have several of them thing's at TF06....if the seal is pushed in too far , the crank will rub on it and mess it up and suck air....hope this help's abit ...............

If you push the seal in to were it's even with the case. Then put the stator on & tighten the bolts down evenly, the stator pushes the seal to the perfect position. The stator plate has three aluminum dogs cast into it that butts up against the seal & fits into the seal bore.

Jason is exactly right. If you go too far not only will it burn the seal, but it starves the crank bearing of oil supply, resulting in bearing failure. You will see a hole at the top of each case half in the transfer area, take a flash light and make sure your seal didnt restrict the opening.

Well...I'm pretty sure I've already pushed it in to far. I've ordered a new seal as I won't be able to remove the seal without damaging it wile the cases are assembled.
Thanks for your help
