What is a good and reliable clutch kit to go with for my 86 x? I need friction plates for sure and i might as well get steel plates and springs while im at it!

barnett clutches are pretty good from what I have heard. I'ver never had to replace one as of yet. I will soon be installing a new clutches in 2 engines once they are rebuilt

Barnett is what I used in my Tecate, works great, no problems.
Pieced together an EBC kit for my CBR too and also had no problems.

I have used Factory brand (not Honda) and EBC complete kits with no problems. I would replace all the parts. fibers, steels and springs.

I agree. Its hard to beat OEM. Ill never understand why soem guys think they need a Barnett heavy duty to replace a clutch they just got 10 years out of. If you fry a lot of clutches, go for the heavy duty. If the old clutch life was acceptable, go OEM.
