My dad is currently the proud owner of a 2003 Honda Rancher 2WD. I have been using this thing quite regularly to train for winter rally racing (me and a few friends do it with quads/trikes), and that includes some pretty harsh terrain (whoops, jumps, drops, etc). Anyway, I was bombing over some downhill whoops recently and I hit a drop, about 2 feet, and landed with my front wheels into a small rut. I held onto the machine, but after that, it steered noticeably harder. I looked under the front plastics at the frame/tierods/a-arms and everything looked fine and un-bent. What could it be? I think it might be a slightly tweaked steering stem. It still drives fine, just takes a little more effort to steer. Also, the effect isn't as noticable on icy or hard terrain, it's more noticable on softer/fluffier snow.

Any thoughts?

They had a recall last year on the stearing.
