I have been thinking about getting another sport type quad here latley and these are the 2 that come to mind. I dont want anything like a YFZ or Raptor or anything because I dont really need it and riding fast quads is like setting on a couch after getting used to handling a trike, Its just not as much fun anymore. I as thinking that the Raptor 350 or the 300EX are both Super reliable, and are competent trail machines. I am kinda leaning on the Raptor due to the larger body size (fits a little better), but the 300EX's handling is a little more aggressive. I dunno, what do you guys think? Its all up in the air right now, I might not buy one at all but I might go get one tommorow, depends on how long this thought swirls around in my head. It will also be New, no used junk around here for me ever again.

A more accurate comparison is a Warrior to a 300EX. Get the Honda.

I'd hate to see what your living room looks like after riding the couch like you do. Apply the same riding style of the performance trike to the performance quad and see how much higher, farther, and faster you'll be going without realizing it.

300EX has better options if you ever decide to upgrade. The 350EX is a nice swap that will bring the 300EX up to where it should have been from new.

The Craptorrior is like putting a dress on a pig, it's still a pig.

I would personally get a Honda. Why? one word - HONDA lol yamaha's arent too bad but i've always had great luck with honda's and my dads (erectordale) 400ex is a fast, comfortable and very reliable quad so i'm assuming the 300ex's are the same. Just my 2 cents

I've always been a Honda guy as well but recently bought an 06 Raptor 350 for my wife. We looked at a lot of different models including the 300ex and 400ex. All were comparable in features, price, style, etc. We ended up with the Yamaha because for her, it was more comfortable than the others and she also liked the styling/color/graphics more. I've ridden it as well and it is comfortable, is fun to ride fast or to just cruise around on while riding with the my kids. It's no YFZ, but it does have good power for what it is.

You'll read all day long about how the Raptor is an old Warrior, and it basically is, but it has had some refinements in the suspension dept. and is built like a tank. This is not to say that the Honda is bad by any means, it'll run forever too, but it's also been around for a few years now as well. It really boils down to personal preference, brand loyalty, and the bottom line of $$$. Whichever one you end up with, you'll be happy with it.

Hondas are great but a friend of mine has a '04 350 raptor and that thing has alot more power stock than my other friends '03 300ex. I love honda but the 350 raptor is a great quad.

I have a 300ex and I love it, ive had nothing but good things to say about it. I ride on some of the roughest crap you can imagine too. I've never heard of anyone having any big engine proublems either. The havn' changed since 93, a testimant to their reliability for sure. if you don't like the dated plasrics maeir has a nice set for it!!!

their both very nice machines, and have both proven themselfs extremely reliable.

i would go and test ride both if you can, or atleast sit on them for a while and see which you feel better on, i havent touched the raptor much but nothing has been changed that will effect the reliabilty since the warrior, and if the warrior was anything, it was reliable, and the 300ex its a honda, need i say more. so i would focus more on which you feel more comfortable on.

id go with the 300ex. i own one now and i just sold my warrior. i like the ex handling way better. the 350 is a tank. the warrior is a solid machine, but you cant beat the bullet proof honda. get the 300, you wont regret a thing. :beer

We were talking about it last night and one of the other details that keeping me at these quads was the reverse. I forgot that the new 400EX has reverse so I might make that an option. I will just have to come up with a few more greenbacks. I know is supierior in all departments to either machine that I listed before and its not a whole lot more expensive. Could be a worth while choice??....

reverse on the ex is a breeze. click it into neutral, red button and clutch in and pull up the red lever. the 350 is pretty easy to but it takes some effort some times to get it to engage

I've ridden both. A 2001 Warrior (close to the 350 raptor) and a 2002 300ex. The 300ex I rode had some major engine problems so I dont know what a nice one is like. But I can tell you, the 300ex has a lot better handling. The first time I rode the warrior was when it was stock. It was alright. Big, heavy, and handled like a pig. But, I just rode it a few days ago and wow. That thing is fast! I think he bored it .40 or something. He wouldnt say what he did but I was impressed. So, bottom line is, there both great machines. But, I think I would take the 300ex just because the handing and turning radius was so much better.

if you get a 300ex, take out the motor and put a 350x motor in it, it will make the 300ex really move . unless you buy it new and have a warranty and stuff to worry about.

I could never kill a trike for a quad. Even if I had the motor just laying around, I would be looking for a trike to put it in lol...... Just not my style. Like I was saying earlier though, I might come up with the extra cash and get the 400ex instead though, I could get it for a couple hundred more if I bug the dealership long enough and its far supieror in handling and ride quality.
